About the Role
We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a Commissioning Technician to join our team. This is a remote/hybrid opportunity requiring 75% travel.
Responsibilities
- Supporting commissioning and design work by reviewing project specifications and drawings to help create a firm design, allowing for commissioning to be clearly integrated
- Create functional performance test procedures for all types of facility HVAC and electrical systems: building automation, HVAC, heating, hot water, lighting, steam, renewable energy systems, and associated controls
- Manage field inspections, oversee equipment startups, and test and balance (TAB)
- Manage field functional performance testing to verify and tune systems for optimum performance
- Troubleshoot faulty systems, perform the technical analysis necessary to interpret system data, and provide recommendations for corrective action
- Assess, document, and write engineering reports of site observations, testing processes, and checklists
- Prepare clear and concise deliverables, including technical reports, Cx reports, system manuals, and assessments, that convey technical information suitable for both lay and technical audiences
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education is a plus
Required Skills
- Knowledge and interest in mechanical systems, or relevant trade experience (HVAC, controls, TAB, chillers, Cx, etc.)
- Experience in one or more of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Chiller, Building Maintenance/ Building Automation Systems/HVAC Control, Facilities Operations Management, Building Commissioning
- Must be willing to travel locally and nationally up to 75% of the time
- Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and carry objects (50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently)
Preferred Skills
- Post-secondary education is preferred
- Experience in engineering, controls, chillers, or the HVAC field
- Commissioning work experience in the design, installation, or start-up of HVAC, electrical, building automation, lighting, or other building systems
- OSHA 30 accreditation
