Commissioning Agent

Enviros is looking for a Commissioning Agent with a strong background in designing, managing, and delivering complex systems across commercial, industrial, institutional, and mixed-use projects. Proven ability to lead projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical accuracy, code compliance, and client satisfaction. Skilled at collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining strong client relationships while consistently delivering projects on time and within budget.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and execute multiple commissioning projects from award through acceptance.
- Create functional performance test procedures for all types of facility HVAC and electrical systems. These include building automation, HVAC, heating, hot water, lighting, steam, renewable energy systems, associated controls and other systems and equipment required to be commissioned using our library and software tools.
- Provide leadership for multiple projects, as well as field oversight of construction and commissioning activities.
- Responsible for the technical quality, accuracy, and managerial aspects of Cx projects.
- Manage field inspections, lead commissioning meetings, oversee equipment startups and test and balance activities as well as field functional performance testing to verify and tune systems for optimum performance.
- Effectively document commissioning procedures, assumptions, and results.
- Prepare clear and concise deliverables, including technical reports, Cx reports, meeting minutes, system manuals, and assessments, that convey technical information suitable for both layman and technical audiences.
- Communicate professionally the progress with the commissioning team, client, architect, and contractor.
- Assist with scheduling support when directed by the Regional Manager.
- Provide recommendations and feedback regarding the design, equipment selection, testing requirements, and operations and maintenance.
- Asset Tagging.
- 90-95% billable.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred), or relevant trade experience (HVAC, controls, TAB, Cx, etc.)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Project management experience (preferred)
- Cx accreditation (preferred)
- OSHA 30 accreditation (preferred)
- Must be able to travel locally and out of state (personal auto, and air). Some travel may require multiple-night stays; up to 60% travel is required.
- Must be able to carry objects (50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently)
- Must be able to climb ladders/stairs

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a professional engineer license are preferred, but not required.
- 10 + years’ work experience in consulting or A/E design.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have completed or are actively pursuing relevant professional certifications including Cx accreditation; LEED accreditation; OSHA 30 accreditation; or licensure in multiple states
- Project management experience, including the ability to develop and manage workplans, plan resources, schedules and budgets and provide leadership to a diverse project team is a strong recommendation.
