Responsibilities :
Overall Function

The Media Analyst will play a key role in tracking the effectiveness of our earned media efforts, researching and monitoring how our topics and initiatives are discussed in digital media, and socializing these insights with our communications and marketing teams to help guide strategic communication decisions.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Monitor, measure, and report on the performance and impact of our traditional media outreach campaigns
  • Measure and report monthly on social media activity
  • Prepare in-depth analyses on the digital conversations around our key areas of work
  • Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of strategists, analysts, marketers, communicators, designers, and developers
  • Document processes used to produce queries, reports, and routine analyses
  • Take lead on internal clients and hold responsibility for their analytics needs
  • Manage standard weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
  • Research data hygiene issues
  • Develop performance benchmarks for social media accounts
  • Participate in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values

Qualified candidates should possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline (equivalent experience can replace formal degree)
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis
  • History of creative, logical, and analytical thinking
  • Naturally inquisitive, with a curiosity for understanding root causes
  • Ability to abstract specific insights from large data-sets
  • Self-learner and strong attention to detail a must
  • Ability to conduct quality assurance of deliverables
  • Proficiency in Excel and web analytics tools (Google Analytics preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency using at least one major BI Tool (Tableau preferred)
  • Experience using social media listening platforms like Brandwatch or Meltwater.
  • Experience with statistical tools a plus (R preferred)
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL a plus
  • Experience with Snowflake a plus
  • Clear business communication skills with ability to ask focused questions to quickly interpret and resolve user needs and ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and insights from data
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Experience with and knowledge of marketing concepts and frameworks (e.g. funnel metrics, acquisition costs, ROI) a plus
  • Commitment to environmental progress is not required, but it will make the work more interesting
  • Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
