OVERALL FUNCTION
As an important member of the Marketing and Communications team, the Project Manager, Content implements efficient processes to execute on ideas, strategies, and plans. This role is an expert in creating workplans and schedules, recognizing scope, anticipating challenges, wrangling teams, and setting priorities. The Project Manager, Content will be embedded in the Content Team, where they help initiate processes and manage projects as they support multiple marketing and communication initiatives for the organization. Projects may include but are not limited to: multi-channel content launches, ad campaigns, videos, photo shoots, interactive tools, infographics, editorial hub, digital content, and complex print projects (including EDF’s quarterly magazine Solutions). Reporting to the Director, Marcomm Project Management, this position collaborate across skillsets, teams, and project types to make sure that the team is maximizing our expertise and resources and ensuring that EDF puts its best foot forward in branding, fundraising and advocacy efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage an ecosystem of tools, processes, and management frameworks to support the Content team and enable efficient and agile collaboration for content marketing
- Oversee content requests and triage priorities according to internal expertise and workloads
- Work upstream with project owners to analyze project goals, objectives, and resources; establish workplan scope, roles and responsibilities, and timeline and manage day-to-day steps, plans and deliverables to goals and deadlines
- Facilitate communication within and between project teams to keep daily activities in sync ensuring clarity of expectation for all relevant stakeholders and contributors
- Keep projects moving in a decentralized, matrixed organization proactively identifying challenges, providing recommendations for solutions, executing on solutions or escalating as relevant
- Maintain consistent and efficient documentation, from recording group decisions to tools and processes
- Traffic final deliverables to clients and/or other key stakeholders, as well as properly into our Asset Management System
- Help oversee overall content inventory, content creation & publishing calendar, and key organizational milestones to help inform and coordinate upcoming projects
- Ensure the overall cohesion and quality of projects
- Participate in advancing EDF organizational effectiveness and culture goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values
- Stay abreast of project management best practices and support ongoing continuous improvement efforts to support team efficiency and effectiveness; support training of colleagues as appropriate to project management tools and processes
- Additional relevant responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Four or more years of experience leading/facilitating complex projects plus Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience successfully implementing and socializing project management processes and/or tools.
- Thorough knowledge of project phases and common challenges.
- Proficiency with the basics of video, photo, and design production processes and technologies. Familiarity with-and aptitude for applying
- -decision-making and project management processes and frameworks.
- Excellent written and in-person communication skills, including meeting facilitation and follow-up.
- Extremely strong attention to detail.
- Experience keeping diverse and geographically dispersed project teams focused, organized, and moving while maintaining a professional, congenial environment.
- Proven ability to facilitate between staff ranging from executive levels through skill-specific specialists.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and negotiate priorities.
- Familiarity with project management software preferred; knowledge of Wrike is a plus.
- Fascination with emerging communications tools, and curiosity about how we can use them to advance EDF's mission.
