Senior Accounting Manager
This is a hybrid role out of EDF's New York office or remote in the U.S.
Overview
EDF’s Accounting and Finance team is looking for a dynamic individual to join the team as Senior Accounting Manager due to promotions within the department. Reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting Operations, the Senior Accounting Manager will supervise accounting staff and provide ongoing maintenance and evaluation of the integrity of accounting systems.
This position will be a key member of the accounting team and will be responsible for hands-on oversight of the financial activities, monthly financial reporting and the related reconciliations and analysis of the organization’s US Subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly financial close process ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks within the close process.
- Supervise accounting staff, developing employees with the capabilities needed to meet the current and future objectives of the organization
- Assist Payroll, providing support for EDF’s ERP system.
- Review balance sheet accounts including a detailed analytical review.
- Provide guidance for the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of an internal control framework that ensures accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting.
- Prepare supporting documentation for internal audit team and year end independent auditors.
- Collaborate with various cross functional teams, including but not limited to, Legal, HR, and Operations to proactively identify and address potential issues that may arise.
- As needed, research complex accounting topics and prepare accounting memos for internal and external reviews.

Qualifications
- At least 8-10 years of related work experience managing in accounting and financial operations; not-for-profit and international experience preferred.
- BA/BS Accounting, CPA, CA, or similar professional accounting certification required.
- Big Four experience preferred but not required.
- Thorough knowledge of financial accounting standards and procedures. A track record of demonstrating sound judgment, integrity, and ethics. An individual with strong character who will quickly gain the trust of others.
- Ability to problem solve and work independently, handling and prioritizing multiple time-sensitive projects with a firm commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Takes initiative actively engaging with all levels of staff and across all programs/departments. Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Experience as a team-oriented leader with highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Oracle NetSuite and NetSuite Planning and Budgeting tool experience a plus.
