Climate Corps Host Recruitment Intern

EDF Climate Corps is a program within EDF+Business, the arm of EDF that pioneers corporate innovation to unlock climate wins. Climate Corps trains talented and passionate graduate students and pairs them with companies and public institutions dedicated to meeting their climate and energy goals. This hands-on summer program matches ambitious graduate students with top companies and organizations to advance climate and energy goals. Since 2008, Climate Corps has placed over 1000 graduate students into more than 500 leading organizations spanning the U.S. and China, helping companies, cities, and organizations design and implement new tools and practices to reduce energy consumption, procure renewable energy, set carbon reduction targets and engage customers, employees and suppliers in achieving sustainability goals – all while growing the next generation of climate leaders.
Overall Function
The EDF Climate Corps Team is seeking an intern who will help drive growth and operational excellence by managing critical operations of the host recruitment pipeline infrastructure within a Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system. This role focuses on enhancing our ability to attract and receive a high number of quality host applications from sustainability teams at private sector companies that align with our strategic goals. The intern will support data integrity, pipeline expansion, advanced analytics, and CRM workflow optimization to enable the Climate Corps Host Recruitment team to conduct organized and efficient outreach. The intern will report to the Manager, Host Partnerships and work closely with the wider Climate Corps Team.

Tasks will include but are not limited to:
U.S. Remote with option to be hybrid out of an EDF office in New York, Washington DC, Austin, San Francisco, Boston, Raleigh, or Boulder. Intern supervisor is in remote/various locations and many team members are distributed across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities
Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Research potential host organizations using advanced search tools and databases, and maintain comprehensive database of recruitment prospects across various sectors and industries with accurate contact information and organizational details.
- Manage data flows within the CRM system, including identifying new contacts, updating existing records, ensuring data integrity through regular audits, and establishing data governance protocols.
- Configure and manage CRM campaigns, including segmentation strategies, workflow automation, tracking mechanisms, and multi-touch outreach sequences to maximize application volume and quality.
- Develop and maintain Excel models/advanced spreadsheets to analyze recruitment metrics, track pipeline health, forecast application trends, and identify high-potential prospect segments.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of recruitment data to identify patterns, bottlenecks, and opportunities for increasing quality application volume and alignment with organizational strategic objectives.
- Maintain CRM system hygiene in collaboration with EDF's CRM team to ensure compliance with data management best practices.
- Support development of recruitment communications materials such as outreach emails, presentations, or marketing content for host-facing materials as needed.
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a graduate degree program with coursework in business analytics, data management, business operations, environmental studies, and/or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability, climate change, business engagement, or environmental program management.
- Demonstrated experience in sales operations, CRM management, marketing operations, or business operations roles, with proven ability to manage complex databases and maintain data integrity.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including experience with pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, and conditional formatting.
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), including campaign management, report building, dashboard creation, and workflow configuration.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to derive insights from data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain data accuracy and quality in large databases.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools preferred.
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of data management processes while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Demonstrate self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.
- Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills with ability to adapt to changing priorities and troubleshoot data issues independently.
