ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job Description


ENTSO-E is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Market Specialist with a strong interest in European electricity market integration and the energy transition.


In this role, you will contribute directly to the implementation and evolution of key European market frameworks, with a primary focus on the Capacity Allocation and Congestion Management (CACM)Regulation, and represent ENTSO-E in critical cross-stakeholder governance bodies, including the Market Coupling Steering Committee.


You will join the Market & Operations Section of the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels, reporting to the Market Deputy & Market Integration Manager, and work within a dynamic and international team of experts.


This position offers a unique opportunity to engage at a high strategic level, interacting with TSOs, ACER, the European Commission, and other key stakeholders shaping the European electricity market.


Your Responsibilities


You will contribute to ENTSO-E’s work on market integration, with a strong focus on CACM implementation and coordination of Europe-wide initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Coordinate and drive the implementation of the CACM Regulation, including related methodologies, deliverables, and implementation projects at pan-European and regional levels.
  • Represent ENTSO-E in key governance platforms, including the Market Coupling Steering Committee, ensuring alignment of TSO positions and effective stakeholder coordination.
  • Facilitate groups of TSO experts, particularly on day-ahead and intraday market integration topics, supporting consensus-building and delivery of methodologies and implementation solutions.
  • Support the development and evolution of European market design, including day-ahead and intraday coupling mechanisms, in close interaction with TSOs and other stakeholders.
  • Engage with European institutions and stakeholders, including ACER, the National Regulatory Authorities, and the European Commission, to represent ENTSO-E and explain TSO positions and deliverables.
  • Contribute to the preparation and follow-up of Market Committee meetings, including agendas, briefing materials, presentations, decisions, and minutes.
  • Support the overall functioning of the Market & Operations Section, including coordination across working groups, project teams, and the Secretariat’s programme management framework.


Your profile


We are looking for a motivated candidate with the following skills and abilities:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within the TSO community or European energy sector.
  • Proven knowledge of European electricity market integration, particularly in areas such as CACM, market coupling, congestion management, transparency, or balancing mechanisms.
  • Good understanding of European regulatory frameworks and stakeholder landscape (ACER, European Commission, TSOs, NEMOs).
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build consensus in complex environments.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication/presentation skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and in team setting with competing deadlines.
  • Proactive and results-oriented attitude.
