Entropy Inc. (“Entropy”) is a full-service low-carbon power generation and carbon capture and storage company. At Entropy, we offer comprehensive carbon advisory services, installation of proprietary technology, efficient capture and transport, reliable sequestration, and expert management of regulatory requirements. Entropy’s first project is operating at Advantage Energy Ltd.’s Glacier gas plant and stands as the sole natural gas processing facility that commercially captures and sequesters carbon from post-combustion emissions. Entropy is also developing the world’s first decarbonized base-load power, combining a new 15 MW natural gas-fired turbine with carbon capture and storage.


Entropy has a combined capital commitment of $500 million from the Brookfield Global Transition Fund and Canada Growth Fund Inc. to develop commercial carbon capture and storage projects. Additionally, CGF is providing Entropy the first ever large-scale, long-term, fixed-price carbon credit offtake commitment in a compliance carbon market, to purchase up to one million tonnes per annum of carbon credits for 15 years.


This role blends financial modeling with the ability to communicate strategic insights clearly and credibly to both internal and external stakeholders. Entropy is actively seeking a Corporate Planning & Development Analyst to join its team in the Calgary Head Office. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is a maternity leave contract.


The successful candidate will have the following experience and credentials:


Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Preparation of the annual corporate budget, including scenario analysis and sensitivities.
  • Preparation, analysis and updating of the corporate forecast model and risk analysis.
  • Preparation of budget and forecast information and presentations for use by senior management and the board of directors.
  • Work with the finance and operational teams to reconcile and explain variances of actual results to budget/forecast for management reporting.
  • Preparation of the monthly Management Reporting Package and Board Report.
  • Work with operations team members to maintain an accurate forecast model for the multi-year development program and review/support the engineering development build out.
  • Support the evaluation and execution of M&A and business development opportunities.
  • Maintain, update and build financial models to evaluate corporate opportunities.
  • Assistance with investor relations, and
  • Special projects, as frequently required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA or CFA designation is considered a strong asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial analysis roles.
  • Ability and desire to provide keen insight to business partners (both in functional and technical capacities) to help drive meaningful business decisions.
  • Experience with financial analysis and modelling.
  • Strong communicator who demonstrates ability to focus communication to the needs of the audience and translate financial information to operational information.
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough, with a desire for continuous improvement.

The Details


Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours/week

Term: Maternity Leave Coverage (June 2026 to approximately June 2027)

Location: Calgary Head Office (In-Office)
