About The Role

You are an Electrical/Electronics Engineer with experience leading a small team of DVT and lab engineers. You have a strong track record in design verification testing and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges at pace. You are technically proficient, a people leader, and capable of managing the scheduling and resourcing of a complex testing programme.

The role reports to the Director of Inverter Technology and will initially have 3-6 direct reports.

Role / Duties

  • Meeting quarterly project progress targets, with goals that come all the way from the CEO
  • Professional development of your team
  • Representing your team to the yearly Performance Focal Group and Promotion Review Board
  • Coordinate testing schedules and resourcing across the DVT and lab team to meet project milestones
  • Own the lab space, ensuring all test equipment is maintained, safe and kept up to standard
  • Ensure test cases are written to test and fully cover all product requirements across firmware, mechanical, and hardware domains.
  • Identify, specify, and order new lab and test equipment to support current and future testing needs.
  • Plan and execute design verification (DVT) and reliability testing programmes across firmware, mechanical, and hardware.
  • Engage cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and procurement teams.
  • Identify and resolve test requirement conflicts and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.


Qualification And Previous Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 8+ years’ experience in design verification testing (DVT) or product validation, with a strong track record across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Experience in leading and managing other engineers
  • Demonstrable expertise in test and measurement equipment, DVT lab setup, and electrical/electronic test methodologies.
  • Proficiency with test case management and requirements traceability tools (e.g. Jira, Jama, or similar).
  • Experience with both investigative and verification testing, including writing test plans and technical reports.


What Would Make You Stand Out?

  • 3+ years experience in people management.
  • Experience testing products for lifetimes of 20–25 years in outdoor, weathered environments.
  • Familiarity with global product compliance and certification processes (e.g. UL, IEC, CE).
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.
