Sustainability Analyst
Company Description
Enistic helps businesses tackle the climate crisis through practical, effective carbon
management. We are a trusted partner to a large number of large organisations, providing
tailored consultancy and our bespoke carbon reporting software to help business leaders
reduce emissions, meet compliance obligations, and save money.
We are a 16-person team based in Oxford. We are growing, and this is an opportunity to join
a company where your work has direct, measurable impact on how businesses respond to
climate change.
Role Description
We are recruiting a Sustainability Analyst to join our consulting team. You will support the
delivery of sustainability reporting and compliance projects across a portfolio of clients, with
a focus on data collection, analysis, and producing accurate outputs to tight deadlines.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role. You will manage a portfolio of smaller client accounts,
collect and analyse energy and emissions data, produce compliance reports, train clients on
our software platform, and conduct in-person energy site audits across the UK. Extensive
training will be provided, but you should be comfortable working independently and taking
ownership of your workload.
You will report to the Head of ESG.
Day-to-day, you will
- Manage a portfolio of smaller client accounts across their ESOS, SECR, Carbon Reduction Plans, and related compliance requirements.
- Collect, validate, and analyse client energy and emissions data using our software platform.
- Produce GHG inventories and compliance reports to meet government legislation deadlines.
- Conduct in-person energy site audits at client premises across the UK.
- Train clients on the use of our carbon reporting platform.
- Support senior consultants and account managers on larger, more complex client projects.
- Help identify opportunities to develop client accounts into broader sustainability services.
- Ensure client satisfaction and retention across your accounts.
- Attend weekly and monthly team and client meetings.
- Full training will be provided for any areas that are required.
Requirements — Essential
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (Sustainability, Environmental Science, Energy, Geography, Engineering, or similar).
- 2+ years' professional experience in sustainability, energy, environmental consulting, or a related field. This can include internships or placements, but we are looking for someone who has worked in a professional setting and can hit the ground running.
- Working knowledge of GHG Protocol Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
- Full UK driving licence (site audits are part of the role; own car preferred but not essential).
- Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK for energy audits when needed.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines across several clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Based in or around Oxford preferred, or able to commute to our Oxford office reliably.
Requirements — Desirable
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, and working with large datasets) and comfort with data analysis.
- Experience conducting energy audits or site assessments.
- Familiarity with carbon reporting or ESG software platforms.
- Experience with TCFD/CRFD, SBTi, CSRD, or other sustainability reporting frameworks.
Skills and Attributes
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- A methodical, logical approach to data and problem-solving.
- Client-focused — you take ownership of relationships and follow through.
- Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where everyone contributes.
- Flexibility to support other teams when needed (e.g. marketing materials, webinars).
- Proactive and self-motivated — you do not need to be chased.
