At Eni, we are looking for a Trading Analyst (Sustainability / Biofuels) to join Eni Trade & Biofuels (ETB) in London. Working within the Biofuels trading area, you will be responsible for managing sustainability requirements and mass balance accounting, supporting with activities related to sustainability certifications, audit, and feedstock traceability, and supporting sustainability projects (including digitalisation initiatives and the implementation of regulatory frameworks & systems).

Main Responsibilities

Sustainability Operations & Mass Balance Management

  • Manage sustainability mass balance activities across the supply chain, ensuring accurate tracking and reconciliation of sustainable feedstocks and products.
  • Review, collect and maintain sustainability documentation related to inbound and outbound transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Support commercial activities through the management and optimization of available sustainability balances, helping maximize the value and utilization of certified sustainable products.
  • Act as the internal focal point for sustainability documentation and compliance matters, supporting Operations, Trading, Biorefineries, Logistics, Back Office and other business functions.
  • Monitor sustainability-related regulatory developments and support the implementation of compliance requirements across the organization.

Certification, Traceability & Sustainability Projects

  • Work closely with suppliers and counterparties to enhance feedstock traceability and ensure alignment with Eni sustainability standards and requirements.
  • Coordinate certification activities and manage relationships with certification bodies and relevant industry associations.
  • Lead and support certification audits, including preparation of documentation, internal readiness activities and follow-up actions.
  • Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of sustainability processes, systems and digital solutions.
  • Support strategic sustainability projects, including traceability initiatives, digitalization programmes and the implementation of regulatory platforms such as the Union Database.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for sustainability-related topics and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on certification and compliance requirements.

Ad Hoc Analytics & Management Support (Ad Hoc)

  • Provide analytical support on an ad hoc basis, depending on business needs and team priorities.
  • Contribute to selected market analysis activities, including supply-demand assessments, market intelligence and sustainability-related market developments.
  • Support the preparation of internal reports, presentations and business updates related to trading activities, sustainability performance and commercial opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of ad hoc analyses, arbitrage calculations and management reports when required.
  • Respond to specific management requests, contributing to special projects, business reviews and strategic initiatives as needed.

Skills And Experience Required

  • University degree in quantitative discipline (Engineering, Maths, Statistics, Physics or IT).
  • Strong understanding of sustainability certification schemes, traceability requirements and renewable fuel regulations.
  • Advanced level of Excel & data analysis. Experience with PowerBI or other digital reporting solutions would be a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into business recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, customers, certification bodies and internal departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in document management and compliance processes.
  • Ability to work across multiple functions in a dynamic and international environment.
  • Results-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, responsible and reliable.
