Enhar has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and efficient Land Acquisition Manager to join our growing team.

We are seeking a team member who is in their mid-career phase: Holding 12-15 years of professional experience in relevant fields and keen to deploy that by striking land deals between renewable wind companies and rural landowners.


The job is half time ie 2.5 days per week. You will ideally work Mondays and Wednesdays and part time Fridays but there is flexibilty in which days of the week you work.


They 3 essential skills you must have are:

  1. Great at talking to rural landowners and understanding their business
  2. Understanding wind farm and battery infrastructure, you are familiar with wind farms, have prior experience of wind farm land deals acting for either the developers, landowners or real estate agents.
  3. Good at computers and organising online documentation including carefully editing land agreement documents and using cloud software to interact with your colleagues when working from home or on work trips. You are likely a person your older family members can come to for help with computers.


Desirable skills include:

  1. Experience with negotiating wind farm and/or battery land agreements
  2. Experience with site selection for wind farms and/or battery or solar projects, transmission lines in NSW, QLD or other states
  3. Computer based mapping experience for site identification. We have a GIS team who will provide detailed maps for you but if you understand and can do some basic mapping it will help.


You have project management skills with proven track record in taking responsibility for project outcomes including: land agreements successfully negotiated and executed. Experience in wind farming is highly regarded, BESS and solar also useful, with strong understanding of the factors which make a robust 'investable' land agreement which host landowners are also comfortable with.


Our client project pipeline is primarily in NSW but we also work in VIC, SA and QLD. Our head office is in Melbourne but you can be located in regional NSW or regional VIC as long as you are willing and able to travel regionally and interstate overnight for up to a week every month to visit landowners and sites.

You are an experienced land acquisition manager, with a real estate or/and renewable energy background, who is supportive of clean energy, have relevant experience in land deals for large rural infrastructure projects, and have achieved multiple successful land agreements.

About the Role

Your Strategic Objectives are:

· Secure land agreements for wind farms sized at >300MW per wind farm in NSW


Your Success Factors include the following regular activities:

· Regularly meet and engage landowners for land agreements for wind farms

· Regularly meet Enhar clients (mostly online) and provide high quality customer service


Your Core Competencies are:

  • Able to compellingly engage stakeholders including farming families and family run rural businesses, to get the best outcome for the project and our client.
  • Decisive project manager willing to take control of projects and stakeholders to drive outcomes in land acquisition
  • Work with our in-house design team to apply site constraints into concept designs which landowners accept
  • Take full responsibility for land acquisition outcomes and timeframes and take a strong pride in efficient delivery
  • Write concise, effective planning permit applications and handle the administration of planning permits
  • Ability to write reports
  • Fluent English with correct grammar and spelling
  • Competent in software for remote working including Outlook email, Outlook shared calendar, Zoom meetings, Teams meetings, Workflowmax, weekly timesheet recording, cloud file management in Dropbox, ability to use phone for most functions while travelling remotely


Qualifications you Must Have:

· Experience in regional land agent companies or experience in renewable energy developer companies

· Experienced in wind project land acquisition

· At least 5+ years experience in securing land and permits including rural projects

· Native level English speaking, writing and reading skills

· Client facing skills, charisma, ability to build trust and rapport with diverse landowners including

· Valid Australian driving License. Flexible to use own vehicle for travel to sites within a days drive.

· Australian permanent residency status

· Australian based applicants only, must have over 15 years continuous living in Australia , or at least 10 years if previously lived and worked in country with similar land ownership regime for a further 5+ years


Qualifications we’d like you to have:

· Located in regopma; VIC or NSW, however South Australia or QLD located persons will also be considered, you must be able to travel to regional NSW, SA and VIC up to once a month with overnight trips

· Experience in land acquisition negotiation in NSW

· Hands on experience with agriculture, farming, grazing, ability to understand and get along with rural landowners extremely well

· Good working understanding of physical footprint layout of wind farms, solar farms and BESS projects


Salary Range:

The package will be in the range $150,000+super base salary, pro rata to part time 2.5 days/week ($75,000+super after pro rata applied) plus success fees when you successfully negotiate executed land agreements between landowners and Enhar clients.

Current Enhar projects include origination of large scale wind farm, BESS for major international and national developers with large scale pipelines in Australia. Our clients also include local councils, water utilities and universities.

Typical project scales are 100-500MW, located in regional QLD and NSW
