Key Responsibility Areas:
Business Development & Sales Strategy
- Identify and pursue power sales opportunities across industrial and commercial segments in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh
- Build, maintain, and leverage networks within industrial zones, commercial hubs, and utility players.
- Develop tailored sales propositions based on client energy profiles, tariffs, and consumption patterns - Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting → proposal → negotiation → closure, targeting annual revenue & capacity targets
- Monitor KPI metrics (lead pipeline, conversion rates, sales cycle time).
Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance
- Maintain deep understanding of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh power-sector regulations, including:
- Open access regimes, cross-subsidy charges, wheeling tariffs
- Electricity Duty, state-level policies, grid codes, and continuity of service regulations
- Ensure all deals comply with SERC (State Electricity Regulatory Commission) directives
- Engage with regulatory bodies and navigate approvals for open access, PPA, and wheeling applications
Data-Centre Power Procurement (PPA & Interconnection)
- Structure and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) suited to data centre requirements:
- Align PPA terms with data centre IT load profiles, scalability, pricing, metering, COD clauses, and resilience needs
- Coordinate interconnection agreements with utilities and DISCOMs to ensure timely grid connectivity - Manage renewable-energy procurement strategies:
- Evaluate on-site vs off-site renewable PPAs, Virtual PPAs, bundled green certificates, sleeved solutions
- Integrate sustainability goals such as carbon accounting, REC allocation, and 24/7 clean energy frameworks
Market Research & Competitive Intelligence
- Analyse market dynamics, consumption trends, and tariff structures in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh
- Track competitor offerings (RE tariffs, service levels, bundled green solutions)
- Identify new business segments (e.g., hyperscale data centres, captive power plants, EV charging zones)
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Cultivate relationships across utilities, DISCOMs, govt. bodies (SERC, Forum of Regulators), and consultants
- Leverage existing connections with industrial/commercial clients to generate repeat and expanded orders
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, technical, finance) to deliver cohesive proposals and ensure regulatory and operational compliance
Project Oversight & Execution
- Oversee implementation of signed deals: from open access licenses to power scheduling and billing clearance
- Resolve operational challenges: grid curtailment, scheduling conflicts, metering alignment with PPAs
- Ensure renewable energy deliveries align with contract terms and carbon metric goals
Reporting, Forecasting & Commercial Strategy
- Prepare sales forecasts, revenue projections, pipeline analyses, and deal dashboards
- Provide input to pricing models, tariff structuring, and commercial terms in RFPs
- Advise senior management on market entry strategies, regulatory shifts, and portfolio expansion
- 7-12 years power sales, ideally in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh
- Strong regulatory acumen: open access, wheeling, grid compliance, and SERC interactions
- Proven track record in data center/large consumer PPAs or structured energy deals
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical competency: ability to interpret tariff schedules, draft commercial models, and manage deal structures
