Technical Product Manager - Mobile Energy Platform & Robotics

ABOUT THE JOB

EnerRenew is a mobile energy provider: we deliver energy to where vehicles and customers already are, instead of requiring them to come to fixed infrastructure. At the core is our energy delivery platform, a marketplace that connects robot owners, energy providers, site operators, and EV drivers – matching energy supply to demand, dispatching mobile energy assets, and managing operations across sites. Our simulator, a digital twin of our business scenarios, lets us and our customers evaluate a deployment before it goes live. Our autonomous charging robot, X-Caddie, is one of the platform’s key hardware products, now moving from prototype to pilot deployment and U.S./EU certification.

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to own the energy delivery platform – how it creates value for robot owners, energy providers, site operators, and drivers – with a heavy emphasis on the charging robot, its key hardware product. The role is primarily product management, with substantial project management across our U.S. and China engineering teams and hands-on support for customer pilots. It is on-site in Saratoga, CA.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 Product management

  • Define the platform’s value proposition and business model for each participant in the marketplace – robot owners, energy providers, site operators, and drivers – and translate their needs into requirements.
  • Own the platform roadmap, with the charging robot as the primary focus; define the robot’s requirements and acceptance criteria across product variants.
  • Define how the robot integrates with the rest of the platform: dispatch, fleet management, energy logistics, and site-owner tools.
  • Analyze the mobile energy and EV charging market, and develop positioning and per-robot and per-site business cases.
  • Define the end-to-end driver, operator, and site-owner experience across the platform.
  • Guide the simulator’s product direction and use it to size deployments and support presales.
  • Prioritize across the platform – robot navigation, perception, arm docking, and battery, plus fleet and site software – balancing customer value, safety, cost, and schedule.
  • Present the product to customers, partners, and investors.

Project management

  • Maintain integrated schedules spanning mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and manufacturing; track dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Coordinate execution across U.S. and China teams, contract engineers, and suppliers.
  • Drive the certification workstream (e.g., UL 3100, UL 3202, ANSI/RIA R15.08, EU Machinery Regulation) with engineering and test labs.
  • Manage prototype and pilot builds, release readiness, and requirements change control.

Pilot operations support

  • Serve as primary contact for pilot customers and site operators.
  • Prepare pilot sites with engineering: surveys, mapping, operating procedures, and staff safety briefings.
  • Support commissioning and daily operations: monitor the fleet, triage field issues, and verify fixes in the field.
  • Provide hands-on operational support and routine system maintenance for robots, charging equipment, and site software, working alongside engineers and field technicians.
  • Track pilot KPIs (sessions, energy delivered, uptime, interventions, satisfaction) and report results.
  •  Write operator training materials and runbooks.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of product management for technical hardware/software products; robotics, autonomous vehicles, EV charging, or energy storage strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary hardware and software programs from prototype to pilot.
  • Technical depth to work closely with engineers on navigation, perception, embedded, and battery systems; ROS 2 familiarity is a plus.
  • Familiarity with functional safety and product certification (UL, ISO 13849, EU Machinery Regulation) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting field deployments or customer operations for hardware or robotics products is a strong plus.
  • Strong presentation skills and a proven ability to work across distributed teams.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin), written and verbal.
  • Ability to work on-site in Saratoga, CA, travel to local pilot sites and occasionally to China, and provide flexible-hours support during pilots.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Our benefits include Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), and paid Public Holidays.
  • This is a full-time, on-site position in Saratoga, CA.
