Microgrid Applications Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop technical proposals and solutions for microgrid and distributed energy projects.
- Analyze customer requirements and design electrical systems, including integration of renewable energy sources, storage, and control systems
- Coordinate with Professional Engineer(s) to review and mark up technical drawings, ensuring accuracy of documentation and specifications for proposals and projects.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project scope and requirements.
- Provide technical presentations and product demonstrations to clients and stakeholders.
- Support project handoff from sales to engineering and operations teams, ensuring clarity and accuracy of technical details.
- Stay current with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in microgrids and electrical systems.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients through technical support and post-sales engagement.
- Strong understanding of electrical equipment, power systems, and energy storage technologies
- Experience with microgrid design, distributed generation, and renewable energy integration.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, power system modeling tools).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for electrical systems
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales, electrical engineering, or project development within the energy sector.
- Hands-on experience with microgrid projects, renewable energy systems, and energy storage solutions.
- Knowledge of utility interconnection requirements and grid integration is a plus.
