About the RoleEnergy Swaraj Foundation is looking for a highly creative, proactive and hands on Media Manager & Content Lead to join its media team.
The person will work closely with Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki and will be required to travel extensively across India as part of the Energy Swaraj Yatra and other climate action initiatives.
This is a field intensive role for someone who can independently handle the complete content cycle, from concept and shooting to editing, publishing and performance tracking.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in fast moving environments, travelling frequently, meeting people from diverse backgrounds and turning real world climate action activities into engaging digital content.
Key Responsibilities1. Yatra & Field Content Production- Travel with Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki and the Energy Swaraj Yatra across India.
- Cover lectures, workshops, events, public interactions, meetings and on ground activities.
- Handle photography and videography during field activities.
- Capture behind the scenes moments, interviews, testimonials and spontaneous content.
- Ensure important moments and stories from the Yatra are documented and converted into digital content.
- Shoot and edit Instagram Reels, YouTube videos, Shorts and other digital content.
- Handle end to end video production from shooting to final delivery.
- Edit educational, documentary, campaign and event based videos.
- Add appropriate music, sound effects, subtitles, transitions, motion graphics and other visual elements.
- Create engaging hooks and storytelling structures for short form content.
- Work with other editors when larger or more complex projects require additional support.
- Can manage the social media team and share relevant data and content with them for editing.
- Manage and coordinate content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, X and WhatsApp.
- Plan and maintain a regular content calendar.
- Publish content according to campaign and event requirements.
- Write captions, headlines, descriptions and other social media copy.
- Monitor content performance and identify formats and topics that generate stronger audience engagement.
- Stay updated with relevant social media trends and formats.
- Develop creative ideas for climate change, energy, sustainability and mindful consumption related content.
- Convert complex climate and energy concepts into simple and engaging stories.
- Develop concepts for Reels, campaigns, posters, thumbnails and other digital formats.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, video editors and social media team members.
- Contribute to the development of new content formats and storytelling approaches.
- Create digital communication for Foundation campaigns and initiatives.
- Handle pre event, during event and post event content requirements.
- Ensure timely communication during important events and programmes.
- Coordinate with internal teams to collect information, photographs, videos and other content required for communication.
- Coordinate with video editors, graphic designers and social media team members.
- Assign and track content production tasks.
- Review creative and video deliverables before publishing.
- Maintain an organised content workflow and archive of photographs and videos.
- Ensure deadlines are met during high intensity Yatra and campaign periods.
- Strong photography and videography skills.
- Good video editing skills using tools such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or similar software.
- Understanding of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other short form content formats.
- Good understanding of social media platforms and digital content trends.
- Strong storytelling and scripting ability.
- Basic understanding of graphic design and visual communication.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills.
Extensive travel across India is an essential part of this role.
- The candidate should be comfortable travelling for extended periods and working in different locations and environments.
- The person may need to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and during events depending on the Yatra schedule.
- A person who prefers a fixed office based routine may not be suitable for this position.
- Experience: 1+ years in media, content creation, digital media, social media or a similar role.
- Strong practical experience can be considered in place of formal qualifications.
- Portfolio is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling professional cameras, mirrorless cameras, action cameras, gimbals, microphones and other content production equipment will be an advantage.
- Candidates who have their own camera or production equipment may be preferred, but it is not mandatory.
Compensation will be offered based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, portfolio, expertise in videography, video editing, social media management, and willingness to travel extensively.
