EU Projects Communication & Engagement Manager
Location: Brussels
Team: EEIP Project Office
Preferred starting date: January 2027
Reports to: Project Office Team Lead
About the role
EEIP is looking for an EU Projects Communication & Engagement Manager to join its Project Office team.
We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on professional with experience in EU-funded projects to lead Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation (CDE), stakeholder engagement and related project activities, while also contributing to new project proposals.
This is not a traditional communications role. You should understand how CDE and stakeholder engagement contribute to project impact and be comfortable coordinating partners, managing activities and budgets, monitoring KPIs and representing EEIP within international consortia.
The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery: from designing CDE approaches and engaging stakeholders to organising events and ensuring project commitments are delivered and properly reported.
What you will do
Across selected EU-funded projects, you will:
- lead or coordinate CDE and stakeholder-engagement work packages and activities;
- develop and implement CDE and engagement strategies and plans;
- coordinate consortium partners, timelines, KPIs and reporting;
- contribute to exploitation, replication, uptake and impact activities;
- develop content and manage websites, digital channels, social media, newsletters and communication materials;
- plan and organise events, workshops, webinars and networking/brokerage activities, including stakeholder outreach;
- monitor performance and maintain evidence for EU project reporting;
- represent EEIP in work-package, consortium and relevant project-management meetings;
- contribute to EEIP's communication, visibility and digital presence.
You should be comfortable both developing the strategy and making it happen.
Contribute to new EU project proposals
You will support the design of CDE, stakeholder engagement and exploitation activities for new EU-funded projects, including work packages, tasks, deliverables, KPIs, resources and budgets, and contribute to proposal writing. Experience in EU proposal development is highly valued. Initiative in identifying opportunities, developing project ideas or building consortium relationships would be an additional asset.
AI-enabled ways of working
As EEIP develops AI- and agent-enabled ways of working, you will contribute your CDE expertise to designing, training and supervising AI-supported workflows and agents to improve project delivery and reduce repetitive work.
What we are looking for
- experience in EU-funded collaborative projects, ideally Horizon Europe or comparable programmes;
- experience in CDE and/or stakeholder engagement, with an understanding of exploitation, impact and uptake;
- experience coordinating partners, activities, deadlines and deliverables;• experience organising events and stakeholder-engagement activities;
- strong project-management and organisational skills, with the confidence to take ownership of a work package or substantial project task;
- excellent written and spoken English and the ability to communicate technical information clearly;
- confidence engaging with companies, research organisations, associations, policymakers and other stakeholders;•
- a proactive, collaborative and hands-on approach, with the ability to work autonomously.
Experience designing and budgeting CDE or stakeholder-engagement activities for EU proposals would be a strong advantage.
Familiarity with communication and digital tools such as WordPress/Wix, Canva, newsletter and social-media platforms, and analytics is also useful.
We are looking for someone dynamic, curious and comfortable taking ownership, who understands that successful EU-project communication is not simply about visibility, but about engaging the right stakeholders, supporting uptake and exploitation, and helping projects turn results into impact.
