Energy Efficiency Consultant

About the Role

An Energy Efficiency Consultant at EEA makes certain that a utility’s energy efficiency programs are accurate, defensible, and ready for the regulators those programs answer to. Behind every rebate a utility pays sits a model determining how much energy was saved and what that saving is worth. You will take those models apart, establish why a figure does not agree with another, and prove what is correct.

This is investigative work, and it rewards the analyst who will not leave a discrepancy alone until the reason is established. These programs are a principal means by which the country reduces the energy it consumes; they move substantial sums, and none of it moves unless the figures can be substantiated.

What We Are Looking For

• Analytical and investigative capability — you want to establish why a figure is wrong, not simply that it is
• Advanced Excel — the environment much of this work happens in
• Relevant professional experience in analytical, data or quantitative work
• A quick learner and a clear writer, comfortable with complex technical material
• Creativity paired with discipline — new ideas shape how we work here, and in regulated analysis a better approach must be demonstrated before it changes what we do
