The ideal candidate will manage the creation, registration and monetisation of environmental certificates, including register Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs), of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) and Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs), across both Energy Bay's own assets and our external client portfolios. You'll support our Clean Energy Regulator (CER) accreditations, help us participate in state-based, and work closely with regulators, asset owners and internal teams to keep our certificate operations accurate, compliant and valuable.

As an Environmental Products Officer with Energy Bay you will be responsible for:

  • Manage CER accreditation processes for our own and third-party generation assets, including preparing and lodging applications and liaising with CER caseworkers.
  • Calculate, create and register LGCs in the Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Registry, and manage transfers, surrenders and settlements.
  • Support the creation, registration and monetisation of environmental certificates for internal assets and external clients, and help identify certificate-generating opportunities with our commercial, asset and operations teams.
  • Manage the creation and registration of STCs, verifying eligibility against CER requirements.
  • Prepare and submit annual electricity generation returns, reconciling generation data against meter and registry records.
  • Perform settlement calculations for third-party generators, reconcile invoices and statements, and resolve settlement disputes directly with site owners and counterparties.
  • Monitor regulatory and scheme developments and recommend operational and commercial responses.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and controls across all certificate and accreditation activities.
  • Follow our WHS policies and contribute to a positive safety culture, including reporting hazards and near-misses.

You will be successful in the role if you possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (completed or in your final year) in a STEM, Commerce, Finance, Economics or related discipline; Engineering or Environmental Science preferred.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Clear and professional written communication suitable for regulator and counterparty engagement.
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated interest in energy markets and renewable energy.
  • Exposure to CER schemes, the REC Registry, the NSW PDRS or relevant industry internships.

You’ll love working here because:

  • We enable everyone with the power to generate change, fostering a culture where individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered to make a real impact through their work.
  • We believe in responsibility and reward you for taking initiative.
  • We’re a successful, fast-growing company with an entrepreneurial vibe.
  • We love to promote internally and offer development opportunities.
  • Comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced professionals.
  • Melbourne office location, with stunning panoramic views.
  • By joining our team, you'll be contributing to supporting renewable energy.
