Role Description The Platform Architect will design and evolve Energrid’s technology platforms that support smart grid and energy management solutions. In this full-time, hybrid role based in Budapest, the Platform Architect will spend part of their time working on-site with product, engineering, and operations teams, and part of their time working from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining platform and system architectures, leading solution design for new features and integrations, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of core systems. The role also involves collaborating with software developers on implementation plans, reviewing technical designs and code where relevant, and setting architectural standards and best practices. The Platform Architect will participate in technical roadmapping, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to continuous improvement of Energrid’s smart devices, software, and AI-driven services.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Solution Architecture and System Architecture skills, with proven experience designing scalable, secure, and reliable platforms.
  • Candidates should possess Architecture and Integration skills to define end-to-end system designs and ensure smooth interoperability between internal and external systems.
  • Candidates should possess Software Development skills, including experience with modern programming languages, APIs, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Candidates should possess the ability to translate business and product requirements into technical architectures and implementation plans.
  • Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in complex, distributed systems.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, and be comfortable working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in energy, utilities, or industrial IoT domains is beneficial, especially with smart grids or renewable integration.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or similar), data platforms, and AI/ML integration is advantageous.
