Experienced Technical Lead - Bornholm Energy Island (Offshore Wind Grid Connection)
Do you want to take technical responsibility for requirements, grid integration and interfaces to suppliers and stakeholders in one of Denmark’s most critical energy infrastructure projects? The role has a primary focus on technical requirements, grid integration and interaction with suppliers and developers throughout the project lifecycle.
The Bornholm Energy Island is a key element in Denmark’s green transition and a cornerstone for enabling large-scale offshore wind power. Energinet has a central role as system operator and technical authority, with responsibility for defining technical requirements, ensuring compliance and safeguarding system-level interests.
A key technical role with responsibility across procurement and delivery
As Technical Lead, you ensure that Energinet’s technical requirements related to offshore wind grid connection are well defined, consistent and correctly reflected in tender material, contracts and technical specifications. You work closely with project management, legal, HVDC project teams and the technical line organisation, and you act as Energinet’s technical authority towards offshore wind developers, OEMs, consultants and other suppliers. Your main responsibility is to ensure that new grid connections are designed, connected and operated in a way that supports operations and ensures a robust power grid.

You have sound technical judgement and the ability to balance robustness, compliance and practicality in a large-scale project context. You communicate clearly and credibly across organisational boundaries and contribute constructively to decision-making at multiple levels.

- Assessment of technical solutions, compliance and risks across development and delivery phases

Experienced Power System Professional
You are an experienced power system professional who performs effectively in interactions with suppliers and developers. You have sound technical judgement and the ability to balance robustness, compliance and practicality in a large-scale project context. You communicate clearly and credibly across organisational boundaries and contribute constructively to decision-making at multiple levels.
Your background and qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or similar
- Extensive experience with offshore wind, grid connection and large-scale power systems
- Experience with control system design and interactions analysis in converter-dominated power systems.
- Experience with technical requirements, specifications, tender material and supplier interfaces
- Solid understanding of converter-based power systems, HVDC connections, offshore AC network design and the specific challenges of integrating offshore wind through HVDC.
- Experience working with developers, OEMs, consultants and TSOs
