Group Financial Controller - Renewables
Group Financial Controller | Renewable Energy IPP | Sydney
I'm partnering with an established independent power producer to appoint a Group Financial Controller, reporting directly to the CFO.
The business owns and develops a multi-technology portfolio across solar, wind and battery storage, with operating assets, a major asset moving from construction into operation, and a multi-gigawatt development pipeline on the east coast. It's backed by a large international utility, giving it the balance sheet of a strategic owner with the pace of a focused Australian team.
Why this role stands out
Most FC roles in renewables sit either in a developer's back office or inside a mature operator's reporting machine. This one spans both. You'll lead financial control across development, construction, operations and financing, with genuine breadth and a seat close to the CFO.

- Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, including quarterly Group reporting to the offshore parent
- Month-end and year-end close, budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
- Cash management, liquidity forecasting and banking
- Project-level lender reporting, covenant compliance and debt servicing, supporting the CFO on refinancing and funding
- External audit, statutory accounts and tax compliance
- Financial controls, governance, and the ERP and reporting systems
- Leading and developing the finance team
What you'll bring
- CA or CPA qualified
- Significant senior financial control experience, ideally in renewables, infrastructure or energy
- Project finance and lender management experience
- Strong technical accounting, with a hands-on approach
- NetSuite or similar ERP experience is a plus
What's on offer
- Competitive salary with annual reviews
- 3 days in the Sydney office, 2 from home
- Income protection, EAP and salary sacrifice options
