Assistant Development Manager – Utility Scale Renewable Energy

Location: Sydney, NSW

About the Role;

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Development Manager to support the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia. The role will focus on the full life-cycle of development including Onshore Wind, Solar, & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from early-stage feasibility through to FID/construction readiness.


Key Responsibilities;

  • Support the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across wind, solar, and BESS technologies.
  • Support project development activities including site selection, land acquisition, planning approvals, environmental assessments, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate technical studies, grid connection activities, and consultant workstreams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, councils, government agencies, network providers, and local communities.
  • Support project budgets, schedules, risks, and development milestones.
  • Support commercial negotiations, project acquisitions, and investment approvals.
  • Support driving projects through to financial close and handover to delivery teams.


About You;

  • 2-4+ years' experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or major project development.
  • Demonstrated experience developing utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of planning, environmental approvals, and project development processes.
  • Experience working with landowners, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, Property, Commerce, or a related field.
