Responsibilities

• Pricing Leadership: Own the pricing of all structured contracts, including tolls, revenue floors, upside shares, and embedded options.
• Valuation Framework Development: Build and implement a robust valuation framework, incorporating BESS revenue distributions across day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets, dispatch simulation, and option valuation of contract payoffs.
• Risk Management: Set pricing and risk premiums, determine hedging strategies, and manage residual positions within the trading book.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in discussions with asset owners and investors, defending pricing decisions and shaping commercial terms.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the origination team on live deals, influencing terms and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Model Creation: Develop the first iteration of pricing models and methodologies, establishing the foundation for the company’s structuring function.

Qualifications

• Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in pricing structured contracts for physical power assets, including tolls, floors, PPAs with shape or flexibility, optimisation, or capacity agreements.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience building valuation and dispatch models from scratch, with a strong understanding of fundamental and stochastic price modelling.
• Counterparty Exposure: Direct experience engaging with counterparties, including active participation in pricing discussions and negotiations.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the priorities and concerns of independent power producers (IPPs) and their lenders, particularly regarding bankability and acceptable contract structures.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional quantitative and analytical abilities, with a track record of developing innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
