  • Play a key role in scaling Eneco’s battery and flexibility business by turning new energy solutions into robust operational and settlement processes
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across Trading, Operations, IT, Finance, and external counterparties
  • Drive process improvement, automation, and innovation in one of the fastest-growing areas of the energy transition

Why choose Eneco?

The energy market is evolving rapidly. New battery systems, flexibility solutions, renewable assets, and increasingly complex customer contracts require smart, scalable, and future-proof operational processes.

As part of the Eneco Trade Community, you will help build the operational foundation that enables these innovations to succeed. Within the Trade Support & Settlements team, you will work at the intersection of business, operations, technology, and change. Your work directly supports Eneco’s mission to accelerate the energy transition while ensuring that new products can be successfully implemented, managed, and settled.

You will join a close-knit team of four professionals where collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement are central. Together, you develop new processes, operationalize innovative products, and ensure that new initiatives can be handed over smoothly to the operational organization once they are mature and scalable.

What You’ll Do

As a Business Analyst Batteries & Flexibility, you will play a key role in translating new battery and flexibility propositions into scalable operational processes. You will work across business, technology, and operations to ensure that innovative energy products can be successfully implemented, managed, and settled.

This role combines project work, business analysis, stakeholder management, process improvement, and operational excellence. You will work on new initiatives from the earliest stages, helping define business requirements, designing future-proof processes, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring successful implementation.

One day you may be working with Trading and Origination teams to understand a new flexibility product. The next day you could be analysing settlement data, designing process improvements, aligning with IT teams on system changes, or discussing operational requirements with counterparties.

Success in this role requires someone who can comfortably switch between strategic discussions and operational details. You understand how different parts of the organization are connected and can translate complex requirements into practical solutions that work across departments.

Is this about you?

You enjoy solving complex problems and bringing people together. You can quickly understand new concepts, ask the right questions, and connect stakeholders around a common goal.

You are naturally curious and enjoy diving into data, systems, and processes to understand how things work. At the same time, you are comfortable communicating with different stakeholders and driving change across teams.

You bring:

  • A completed Master's degree, preferably in a technical, economic, quantitative, business, or related field;
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in energy trading, operations, settlements, business analysis, process improvement, data analytics, or a comparable environment;
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex processes, contracts, systems, and datasets;
  • Experience with Excel and an affinity for Databricks, Python, AI, automation, or comparable technologies;
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills;
  • A proactive mindset with a natural drive to identify opportunities and implement improvements;
  • The confidence to challenge existing ways of working while maintaining strong relationships and collaboration.

Experience with batteries, flexibility products, or energy markets is a plus, but not a requirement. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate learning agility, curiosity, and the ability to operate across multiple domains.

Even if you do not meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We value potential, motivation, and the willingness to learn just as much as direct experience.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Supporting the implementation and operationalization of new battery and flexibility products;
  • Identifying bottlenecks in existing processes and driving improvements across systems, workflows, and data flows;
  • Ensuring accurate and timely financial settlement of complex battery and flexibility contracts;
  • Collaborating closely with Trading, Operations, IT, Finance, and external counterparties to optimize end-to-end processes;
  • Contributing to automation initiatives, data quality improvements, and new ways of working;
  • Building knowledge related to batteries, flexibility solutions, and emerging energy market mechanisms;
  • Identifying operational risks and implementing sustainable long-term solutions.

This is where you’ll work

You will be part of the Trade Support & Settlements team within the Analysis & Realization department of the Eneco Trade Community. The team consists of four professionals with a mix of junior and senior experience and works closely with colleagues across Trading, Operations, Technology, and Finance.

The team is responsible for translating new business opportunities into operational reality. Whether it concerns batteries, flexibility products, renewable assets, or innovative customer propositions, the team ensures that new initiatives can be implemented successfully and integrated into Eneco’s operational landscape.

This is an environment where you will have significant exposure to different parts of the business, a high degree of ownership, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of Eneco’s battery and flexibility portfolio.
