Principal Engineer/Operations Lead (m/f/d)
Core Mission of the Role:
Act as the CTO’s technical sparring partner and execution driver, bridging strategic technology development with hands-on operational reality during the transition from R&D to industrial piloting and scale-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior technical counterpart to the CTO, providing critical input, reality checks, and structured sparring on technical and strategic decisions.
- Provide experience guiding technology from laboratory and prototype stages through pilot operation to industrial-scale implementation and product readiness (TRL advancement) in an industrial environment.
- Drive technical organization and prioritization across pilot operations, development cycles, and scale-up initiatives.
- Ensure that pilot units, infrastructure, and experimental setups are designed, operated, and evolved with industrial scalability in mind.
- Bridge engineering disciplines (electrical, chemical, mechanical, systems) and ensure technical coherence across teams.
- Enable fast and focused development by structuring iteration cycles, development roadmaps, and decision-making processes.
- Speak the language of operations: identify bottlenecks, de-risk execution, and ensure technical decisions are grounded in practical feasibility.
- Support preparation for external engagements (partners, suppliers, industrial stakeholders) by representing enaDyne’s technology with clarity and credibility.
- Ensure availability of all required resources, including internal teams and external partners, to avoid operational bottlenecks while maintaining budget control.
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SOPs and safety procedures.
- Select, coordinate, and manage external vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Your Profile:
- Strong technical foundation with a clear emphasis on electrical engineering, ideally including pulsed power and high-voltage systems.
- Strong ability to bridge plasma physics, chemistry, and electrical engineering, understanding their interdependencies and translating them into coherent technical solutions.
- Experience working on the transition from laboratory or prototype systems to pilot or industrial-scale setups.
- Proven ability to operate as a technical generalist, able to connect details across disciplines without losing sight of the big picture.
- Experience in an industrial, deep-tech, or hardware-driven environment (chemical industry, energy, process technology, advanced materials, or similar).
Mindset we are looking for:
- Strong communicator who can challenge, align, convince, and delegate—internally and externally.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution drive — able to anticipate challenges and act before they become problems.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-changing environments typical of deep-tech scale-ups.
- Hands-on mentality without being a "line worker"; able to zoom in and out between detail and strategy.
- No ego: ideas and progress first.
- High level of ownership, reliability, and commitment to safety, quality, and mission.
What we offer:
- A steep learning curve within an innovative deep-tech company.
- The opportunity to actively contribute to combating climate change.
- Flexible working hours and hybrid work options.
- The opportunity to work with a high degree of ownership and responsibility.
- Access to modern research facilities and extensive professional development opportunities.
- Work on a unique, sustainable technology in the field of CO₂ utilization and emissions valorization.
- Creative freedom in building and shaping new process and pilot systems.
- A young, dynamic environment focused on innovation and speed of execution.
- Various development and career opportunities within a growing team.
