Operations Maintenance Manager
Position Overview
The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager is responsible for leading all post-installation service and maintenance activities to ensure solar and battery systems perform at peak efficiency. This individual will manage service technicians, coordinate field operations, oversee remote troubleshooting, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through timely response and resolution of service tickets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all service calls, technician visits, and post-installation activities.
- Lead remote troubleshooting and diagnostics for solar and battery systems (e.g., Enphase, Tesla, EverVolt).
- Oversee monitoring systems to ensure proper production performance and data accuracy.
- Coordinate and dispatch technicians across multiple service regions.
- Request, process, and track RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations) with manufacturers.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all service work, including part serials, RMA numbers, and warranty records.
- Ensure safety and code compliance across all O&M activities in accordance with OSHA and NEC standards.
- Train and mentor O&M staff in technical troubleshooting, system analysis, and manufacturer protocols.
- Attend manufacturer training sessions and maintain updated knowledge of new product and service procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service through follow-up communication and status updates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflow efficiency, customer experience, and technical accuracy.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Solar Operations & Maintenance , Service Management , or Project Coordination .
- Strong working knowledge of solar PV and battery systems , including Enphase, Tesla Powerwall, SolarEdge, or similar.
- Experience resolving service tickets, monitoring system performance, and coordinating technician schedules.
- Familiarity with RMA and warranty processes and manufacturer reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Office , CRM, or project management software (Salesforce preferred).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and follow-through.
- Ability to train, mentor, and manage multiple field technicians.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to work on-site and travel to job locations as needed.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- NABCEP certification or equivalent solar technical credential.
- OSHA 10/30 Safety Certification.
- Experience with energy storage systems and remote monitoring platforms.
- Prior supervisory experience in solar service or field operations.
