Internship - Battery Pack Design
At Elysian aircraft, we are pushing the boundaries of innovation, and challenging misconceptions to design, build and certify the world’s first fully electric regional airliner called the E9X, with a targeted useable range of 800km. To enable the E9X and other electric aircraft, one of the key technologies that needs to mature is the battery system, which will be the highest energy density, rechargeable battery system ever designed for aviation use. By joining our experienced battery team, you will have the chance to learn about the key technology enablers and challenges from world-class experts, while solving tough problems and generating innovative ideas along the way.

Your Day To Day
- Iterate designs, solve problems, and learn from the senior design team.
- Learn about the challenges of designing certifiable propulsion batteries for aviation, while balancing safety, performance, reliability, durability, life-cycle, maintenance, cost and resources.
- Support the generation of new conceptual designs complying with the different design requirements for the most advanced lithium-based battery technologies.
- Contribute to trade studies and design space exploration to optimize safety and functional requirements.
- Contribute to internal documentation, knowledge sharing, and the setup of re-usable tools and methods.

- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering with some emphasis on mechanical design.
- A collaborative, proactive, and open mindset.
- Ability to work in a team, communicate and challenge ideas, present results effectively, and write brief technical reports .
- Experience in 3D CAD software, preferably CATIA.
- Knowledge of advanced composite materials and rapid prototyping is a plus.
