About the Internship

Elements Energy, in collaboration with SBPDCL (South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited) and AEEE (Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy), is seeking enthusiastic Field Survey Interns to support the implementation of a Demand Response Program in Bihar.

This internship provides hands-on experience in field surveys, consumer engagement, energy assessments, data collection, and utility operations. Interns will work directly with commercial, industrial, and residential electricity consumers, supporting one of India's pioneering Demand Response initiatives while gaining practical exposure to the power and energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

Field Surveys & Consumer Engagement

  • Conduct on-ground surveys of commercial, industrial, and residential electricity consumers.
  • Visit consumer facilities to understand energy usage patterns and operational schedules.
  • Collect information on connected loads, electrical equipment, and electricity consumption.
  • Conduct structured interviews using survey questionnaires and digital survey tools.
  • Build positive relationships with consumers and explain the objectives of the Demand Response Program.

Data Collection & Documentation

  • Accurately collect and document survey responses.
  • Verify and validate field data before submission.
  • Organize survey records and maintain proper documentation.
  • Capture observations, photographs, and site information where required.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of collected information.

Consumer Assessment

  • Assist in identifying consumers suitable for Demand Response participation.
  • Observe energy-intensive processes and operational practices.
  • Support basic energy assessments during field visits.
  • Record consumer feedback and recommendations.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with SBPDCL officials, project partners, and internal field teams.
  • Participate in awareness campaigns, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Provide daily and weekly updates on survey progress.
  • Support project logistics and field planning activities.

  • Confidence in interacting with consumers and stakeholders.
  • Strong observation and data recording skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively within Patna and nearby areas.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in field conditions.
