Deputy Manager - Business Development
Role's and Responsibilities -
- Conduct research relevant to new project leads, project developers, project owners, relevant
regulatory regimes /policies related to carbon projects and process/requirements of carbon and
sustainability standards (CDM/UNFCCC, VCS/Verra, I-REC, The Gold Standard, GCC,
CERCARBONO, etc.).
- Help in leading project sourcing activities and business development (identification,
assessment and contracting) in the local region and support existing projects with respect to the
carbon market.
- Preparation and allocation of new captured opportunities to sales team through internal /
external sources.
- Proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities.
- Assisting your manager in preparing sales reports.
- Work with internal departments such as the Marketing teams to engage audiences and clients
more deeply.
- Work with stakeholders of local carbon markets
- Ensure that sourcing flows and processes (including documentation and interaction with
other teams) are in line with the company guidelines.
- Understand client needs, gather market intelligence and identify industry trends.
- Assistance to manage client’s portfolio across the region.
- Help in the representation of EKI as business development, environmental market consultant
in client meetings, exhibitions and other corporate events and assist in the representation of EKI
Energy in different forums on environmental markets.
- Work closely with colleagues across the organization to empower matrix teams that deliver
on our vision of climate action for all.
- Develop a list of potential clients in key industries defined within the team’s mandate.
- Support the business development team in developing strategies and planning with specific
actions pertaining different project types (e.g. renewable energy and/or waste management
and/or Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Uses - AFOLU or other kind of projects).
Requirements:
Requirements
- Experience with at-least 1+ years in a similar role or the industry like Climate Change are
considered as good fit.
- University degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or another relevant discipline.
- Experience in project identification and screening for potential leads.
- Knowledge and expertise in environmental markets, especially in voluntary carbon markets
(VCS/VERRA, I-REC, The Gold Standard, GCC, CERCARBONO, etc).
- Knowledge of carbon products and markets, preferably including one or more of the
following: CDM/UNFCCC, VCS/VERRA, I-REC, The Gold Standard, GCC, CERCARBONO, etc.
- Experience in scaling up a fast-growing organization in the context of a highly competitive
market environment.
- Fluent in local language and English.
- Capacity to work independently and remotely.
- Professionalism, Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
