Role Description

The Climate Career Mentor is a volunteer, remote role. The mentor will guide students and early-career professionals interested in climate and sustainability careers through one-on-one and group mentoring sessions. Responsibilities include helping mentees map career paths, review CVs and portfolios, practice interview skills, and connect climate skills to real-world opportunities. The mentor will contribute to workshops, webinars, and learning circles on green jobs, Net Zero pathways, and climate leadership. In addition, the role involves collaborating with the eGreenlyf team to refine mentoring frameworks, share feedback on mentee progress, and occasionally support outreach or community engagement activities related to climate careers.


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of climate change, sustainability, or environmental sectors, with practical understanding of green jobs and Net Zero pathways.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to plan and facilitate small group sessions, webinars, or workshops, both in-person and online.
  • Comfort using digital tools for remote work (video conferencing platforms, shared documents, and messaging applications).
  • Demonstrated commitment to climate action, community resilience, and inclusive, equitable development.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in environmental studies, climate science, sustainability, education, social sciences, or a related field is an advantage.
