The Opportunity

We are now seeking a Senior Lead Scheduler to join our Connection Projects (Southern Region) team in our new Cork office.

The experienced Scheduler must possess experience as a scheduler in a large capital project delivery environment with an understanding of building and managing schedules against baselines to effectively communicate the schedule to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivering and maintaining a detailed logic linked Integrated Master
  • Schedule in Primavera P6 & MS Project Online, spanning across all workstreams and in line with the agreed programme WBS.
  • Lead the effort in maintaining WBS, Project Scope, Basis of Schedule document, and
  • Assumptions log as the project progresses while ensuring strict change control.
  • Establishing and managing the project baseline and reporting of same, including regular schedule variance reports
  • Facilitate and lead schedule planning workshops reviews with a multi-disciplinary team developing interfaces with the Subject Matter Experts in the programme team.
  • Conduct monthly Schedule progress updates with package leads and consultants.
  • Review, assess and challenge deliverability of contractors’ schedules.
  • Reporting on schedule progress including critical path, trend analysis and highlighting impacts from any interface areas.
  • Provide regular schedule status reports for the programme and sub-elements ensuring clear, timely and accurate information is provided to Stakeholders as and when required. Ability to integrate schedules into power BI and dashboard models.
  • Contribute to developing planning processes and procedures to support the Programme delivery plans.
  • Undertake “what-if” scenario planning to support the successful development of the project and develop ad-hoc schedules and reporting as required by programme leadership.
  • Production of Consolidated timeline views for resource planning, budgeting and benchmarking.
  • Liaise with the Controls and Performance team aligning Schedule, Cost and Risk for Integrated Controls.
  • Support in schedule baselining/re-baselining activities
  • Support in Quantitative Schedule Risk Assessment (QSRA) processes
  • Performing other activities as and when required from the Programme Controls Lead.

The Team

The Chief Infrastructure Office (CIO) within EirGrid comprises highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in engineering and business/commerce. The CIO is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the power system and interconnection investment programmes, in collaboration with partners, customers & communities.

The Connection Projects (Southern Region) team is responsible for the delivery of electricity generation, demand and interconnection customer connections to the transmission system. This includes the delivery of transmission works for power generation and demand customer connections at distribution voltage levels.

About You

Successful candidates will have:

  • Relevant third level qualification, e.g. Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience as a Scheduler on large and complex Infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills will be essential for this role with the ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Proactive ability to work independently and work with cross-functional teams including consultants and contractors.
  • 8+ years’ hands on Scheduling experience and advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. (MS Power BI desirable).
  • Experience with quantitative schedule risk assessments (QSRA)
  • Proven track record of developing Work Breakdown Structures, creating project schedules, analysing contractors’ schedules, and schedule control are essential for this role.
  • Experience in communicating and reporting up to C -Suite
