Senior Lead GIS Technician - Engineering & Asset Management
We are the people behind Ireland’s electricity grid. We operate the power system with world leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring that everyone has power when they need it. But that’s not all, we are now transforming the power system for future generations.
And that’s just the beginning of our story. We have a critical purpose. That purpose is to transform the power system to enable our society to reduce our carbon emissions and meet our climate change and net zero ambitions.
Be part of the transformation!
The Opportunity
We now seeking a Senior Lead GIS Techician for our Engineering & Asset Management (E&AM).
The Asset Management Team is responsible for updating and maintaining the existing GIS system for the transmission system both onshore and for new offshore assets.
A core part of this role will involve working with other internal teams on carrying out spatial analysis to support the development of new transmission projects, working closely with the project management teams, environmental and spatial planning teams. The role will require working closely with the maintenance team to incorporate all available asset data and to ensure the accuracy of the data of existing assets and all new assets added to the grid.
The Team
The Engineering & Asset Management is responsible for undertaking four key roles; asset management, technical authority, onshore engineering and offshore engineering. The team is responsible for setting the technical engineering policies and standards to be used for transmission infrastructure, monitoring compliance during design and construction and for ensuring asset integrity and ensuring uninterrupted power system functionality.
