Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, the Regulatory Reporting Manager is a newly created role established as part of a significant expansion of the Finance function and the development of EirGrid's future Finance operating model. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery, control and continuous improvement of regulatory financial reporting across the Group.

The role ensures that all regulatory submissions are accurate, timely, and fully aligned with regulatory frameworks, price controls, and statutory reporting requirements. The successful candidate will act as a key interface between Finance, Group Regulation, and the wider business, ensuring that regulatory obligations are clearly understood, embedded within financial processes, and appropriately reflected in financial outputs.

In addition, the role will provide critical financial insight on performance against regulatory allowances, supporting informed decision-making. The Regulatory Reporting Manager will also play a key role in driving improvements in regulatory reporting processes, systems, and data quality, enabling more efficient, transparent and auditable reporting in a complex, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, review and submission of all regulatory financial reporting requirements, including regulatory accounts, price control reporting, annual performance reporting and other regulatory submissions.
  • Lead the Finance contribution to regulatory funding submissions, price reviews and other significant regulatory processes.
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners, FP&A, Financial Reporting, Group Regulation and operational teams to ensure regulatory impacts are appropriately reflected in business decisions, forecasts and financial plans.
  • Own the reconciliation between statutory, management and regulatory reporting outputs.
  • Deliver insightful analysis and commentary on performance against regulatory allowances, highlighting risks, opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Support Executive and senior management decision-making through analysis of regulatory performance, funding and financial outcomes.
  • Maintain consistency, integrity and transparency of regulatory reporting methodologies, assumptions and outputs.
  • Establish and maintain robust controls, governance frameworks and audit trails for all regulatory reporting activities.
  • Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency, automation and transparency of regulatory reporting through enhanced data, systems and reporting tools.
  • Act as a key Finance interface with Group Regulation and support regulatory engagement activities where required.

Skills And Experience

  • Experienced qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with a minimum of 8 years previous experience within a fast-paced finance department
  • Experience interpreting regulatory frameworks and translating requirements into financial reporting outputs
  • Proven ability to work across Finance, Regulation and operational teams
  • Strong experience with ERP-based finance environments
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and audit requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills and report writing skill
  • Experience within a regulated utility, infrastructure or energy environment
  • Knowledge of Irish energy regulation and price control frameworks
  • Experience with Power BI and data analytics tools
  • Previous experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
