The Opportunity
We are now seeking a Deputy Commissioning Manager to support the Celtic Interconnector Commissioning Manager in the planning, coordination and delivery of commissioning activities across the project.
The role will lead delegated commissioning workstreams across onshore and offshore elements of the project, including coordination of interfaces between converter stations, cable systems, cable sealing end compounds, marine installation activities and associated transmission assets.
The role will coordinate inputs from engineering, scheduling, works package and contractor teams, This will help ensure commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with Grid Code and project specification requirements.
The Team
The Celtic Project Delivery Function is responsible for the planning and delivery of the Celtic Interconnector Project, which will enable the exchange of 700 MW of electricity between Ireland and France. Moving this electricity across a distance of 575km, with 500km of the cable running under the sea, this interconnector will have the capacity to supply electricity to 450,000 homes

About You
Successful candidates will have:
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification with 8+ years relevant experience, ideally the energy sector.
- Knowledge on the Irish transmission system Grid Code requirements and commissioning needs associated with the delivery / demonstration of such.
- Ability to successfully guide, persuade and influence others towards a common vision or goal, including negotiation and conflict resolution when required.
- Ability to provide leadership and work within a dynamic environment while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to plan, deliver and lead on large scale EPC project deliverables.
- Exceptional communicator, able to articulate technical concepts and analysis to non-technical audiences and senior business leaders and can influence and inspire others to deliver interconnection objectives.
- A tenacity to drive excellence and quality in all areas of responsibility in line with the company vision and strategy, identifying and embracing best practice.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience with commissioning test matrices, test procedures and test results in the energy sector.
- Proven strong experience of the design and commissioning aspects of HVDC interconnectors / FACTS devices onto transmission systems.
- Experience with onshore/offshore transmission systems and marine construction interfaces.
