*Residential Energy Efficiency Auditor* Efficient Home ( seeks a highly motivated candidate who wants to learn our business and work as a residential Energy Auditor to support the Chestertown, MD region (21620). You know your way around residential structures, based on your past general contractor experience constructing or repairing homes, or serving as a Technician in the residential HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical services. 2. You want to combine your hands-on technician & installation skills with your expert customer support, task management, and proactive problem-solving skills. 3. You are motivated by working with new clients every day across the Maryland Eastern Shore & regional counties, coordinating & facilitating unique residential energy efficiency solutions, versus 8 hours per day of narrowly focused & repetitive labor-intensive work. 4. Becoming BPI (Building Performance Institute) certified and building a career in Residential Energy Efficiency is a challenge and opportunity you can commit to. *Opportunity* Once hired, your training will include a combination of hands-on field work and on-line research & study programs to prepare you for BPI (Building Performance Institute) certification. Additional certifications in OSHA, EPA Lead, and related industry tools/services are possible Your training will include shadowing an Energy Auditor to learn how to conduct residential energy audits, run energy models, propose & explain energy saving measures to client, and create work orders identifying agreed to improvements for the home. You’ll learn modeling software for multiple weatherization programs, and our proprietary CRM software which includes producing work orders, proposals, contracts, QC sheets and more. Your training will also include supporting current Installation Technicians installing a range of energy saving measures into customers’ residences. This will include assisting on basic home repair tasks such as carpentry, electrical, and drywall, for air sealing, insulation, HVAC repairs, minor roof repairs, duct repairs and ventilation of bath fans and dryers. You’ll work closely with a Senior Installer to be trained on specific Energy Retrofit Installation & Weatherization work. Your Manager will work closely with you to ensure your training & development are on schedule. While Training is always ongoing, building up your relevant capabilities & competency levels will take 3-6 months. Once fully trained in the full scope of services, your primary job duties will support Residential Energy Audit services, with ongoing occasional support of Installation service projects. *Absolute 100% Requirements*- A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, able to cover a region that includes the Chestertown, MD region (21620), and surrounding counties. - Ability to pass a background check and a drug screen. - Ability to carry and set-up equipment, weighing approximately 40 lbs. - Ability to climb ladders and crawl to access attics, crawl spaces, etc. - Ability to operate simple hand tools. - Ability to learn and effectively utilize software & automated tools. - Motivated to expand credentials and obtain advanced certifications. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Customer service focused. - Self – starter, with ability to work independently, and demonstrate strong attention to accuracy and detail. - Extremely organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or ability to learn. - Residence near or within a reasonable commute of Chestertown, MD (21620). *Helpful Skills;*- BPI, OSHA and EPA Lead certifications highly preferred; otherwise, ability to obtain certifications in a timely manner, once hired. - Knowledge of and/or ability to operate blower door, duct blaster and manometers. - Knowledge of and/or ability to operate combustion analyzers. - Knowledge of and/or ability to learn minimum building ventilation requirements using RED Calc, and energy modeling tools like SnugPro, Beacon, HEAT. - Knowledge or familiarity with energy modeling tools (SnugPro, Beacon, HEAT, others). *Compensation & Benefits* This is a full time, W-2 employee position. Based on relevant experience, starting annual salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 per year, plus Bonus and/or Commissions program based on performance incentives.
