☀️ Job Description – Solar Installer

Position Summary

The Solar Installer is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining residential and/or commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
This role ensures installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local, state, and federal codes, as well as company standards.
 

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and service solar PV systems on rooftops, ground mounts, or other structures.

  • Measure, cut, and configure materials according to design specifications.

  • Mount solar panels, wiring, and support structures in compliance with NEC and building codes.

  • ✅ Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks to ensure optimal performance.

  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and fall protection.

  • Collaborate with electricians, project managers, and crew members to complete installations on schedule.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.

  • Provide excellent customer service, explaining system features and answering homeowner questions when needed.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).

  • Previous experience in construction, roofing, or electrical work strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights or in varying weather conditions.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • NABCEP certification or electrical license is a plus.
     

Work Environment

  • Outdoor/rooftop environment with exposure to sun, heat, and varying weather.

  • Full-time position with potential overtime depending on project needs.
