BAS Design Engineer
About the Role:
My client is looking for a skilled BAS Design Engineer to join their growing team, delivering intelligent, energy-efficient building control solutions across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop BAS design packages including control schematics, sequence of operations, point lists, and panel layouts
- Design HVAC control strategies for AHUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, FCUs, and energy recovery units
- Specify BAS hardware and design BACnet, Modbus, LON, or other protocol-based network topologies
- Coordinate with MEP engineers to ensure design intent is captured in control sequences
- Prepare tender documentation, conduct design reviews, and respond to RFIs and submittals
- Liaise with consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, CIBSE, and relevant local standards
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related field
- 3-7 years of experience in BAS/BMS design or building controls engineering
- Proficiency with a major BAS platform (e.g. Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider, Tridium Niagara)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and BACnet/IP, Modbus, or LON protocols
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit MEP
