The full pay range for this role is $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.
The Origination Analyst will create and use financial modeling for competitive offers, conduct research and analysis, prepare pitch materials and provide analytical support that enables the Origination & Power Marketing team to source and negotiate renewable power transactions with leading corporate and utility buyers of renewable energy products and services. Analysis performed by the Analyst will assist in developing the business's energy market strategy within the U.S. and provide analytics that facilitate customer dialogue. The Analyst will be responsible for managing the origination team's customer database.
A significant part of this role will be synthesizing commodity price, generation resources, transmission, construction, and O&M cost data from other internal groups as well as external sources. The Analyst will develop an in-depth understanding of power supply & demand, transmission and renewable energy regulation and incentives.
Internship Duration: 12 weeks beginning June 2026.
Responsibilities
Goals of Internship:
- Assist with the front-end structuring of offtake proposals to drive success with closing transactions
- Lead research with internal and external tools to gain market intel for key initiatives
- Gather competitive intelligence and conduct competitive analysis of the Company's projects
- Analyze and evaluate renewable energy market data and formulate customer pitch strategies
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for customers
- From time to time, join colleagues on customer pitch calls and meetings
- Optimize/maximize for competitiveness internal models and analysis to support customer proposals
- Liaise with other internal groups to meet Origination & Power Marketing business goals
- Collaborate with colleagues to run webmap tools identifying competitors and potential off-takers for highest tier off-takers.
- Identify future renewable energy needs in the regions and assist in preparing the messaging to the other EDFps teams involved. The purpose is to help drive future development and expanding the pipeline.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in academic program for Bachelors degree in Business or related field
- Significant experience with using MS *.ppt and Excel
- Proficiency in database management and spreadsheet applications
- Excellent oral, written and analytic skills
- Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player
- Extensive experience preparing presentations
- Driven self-starter and high degree of honesty and integrity
- Capacity and willingness to perform job duties under time pressure from external and internal deadlines
- Able to work well with geographically disperse, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple internal relationships simultaneously
- Candidate must be located in San Diego with ability to commute
