Land Contract Specialist (Hybrid)

The full pay range for this role is $66,900 to $111,400 annually, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $80,190 to $93,555 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.
This position works closely with Land Acquisition, Title, and Legal throughout the land acquisition and development process by drafting, revising, and reviewing land contracts based on standardized forms. The Land Contract Specialist is responsible for ensuring land contracts remain compliant with company policy, while identifying deviations and potential risks to leadership utilizing system tools, such as Malbek, and organization guidelines. The Land Contract Specialist plays an important role in the project development process by monitoring continuity and effectiveness of contracts throughout the land acquisition effort.
Responsibilities
- Draft land contracts using standardized forms, said contracts include, but are not limited to, options, leases, amendments, easements, purchase agreements, and other agreements for land control. The ability to read, understand, and produce redlined agreements, while maintaining version control, is critical to this function.
- Review land lease terms; analyze and interpret provisions. Create a risk analysis based on organization guidelines, for senior leadership to review.
- Organize and manage contract review and the approval and execution process for 50-100 contracts, leases, purchase agreements that are in process at any given time.

Supervision of Others: None
Working Conditions: 95% of time is spent in the office environment utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft tools), and general office equipment. 5% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors' and/or internal customers' sites in addition to attending various meetings.
This position is Hybrid in San Diego, CA. Typically three days per in office (Tue/Wed/Thur)

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Preferred 5 years' experience in land leasing and/or purchasing.
- BA or equivalent experience; renewable energy or cell tower experience helpful.
- Preferred real estate paralegal certificate or experience.
- Experience in conducting due diligence for property acquisitions.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple shifting priorities.
- Familiar with an enterprise contract system, such as Malbek.
- Proficient with Microsoft products, including SharePoint and Teams.
- Good written and oral communication skills, especially as it relates to land contracts.
- Good organizational and analytical skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, friendly personality, and solid team player.
Physical Requirements: Work performed sitting or using a stand-up desk. Occasional lifting of various documentation and/or boxes relevant to task-at-hand in this job description.
