The role

Our international team is looking for a Technical Manager - Africa (f/m/x), based in Ghana, to manage our portfolio of operating projects in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) guaranteeing optimal output and asset health. Our ideal candidate is a pragmatic, self-starter engineer experienced in installation, operation and maintenance of solar PV systems, ready to take full ownership managing our solar assets in a fast-paced environment. You combine your organizational skills with technical knowledge and can manage a high number of unpredicted tasks arising regularly.

In this role you will

  • Operate and manage all assets via real time monitoring data to ensureoptimalperformance.
  • Strengthen SSA operations by managing andoptimizingO&M contractswhile also managing relations with O&M partners.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate O&M activities withvarioustechnical partners whomaintainon-site solar PVassetsto ensure minimum downtime,optimisedoutputand proper documentation.
  • Liaise with O&M partners to ensure thatsystem downtimes are addressed within contractual timelinesandsubsequentprocesses like warranty and insurance claims are carriedout.
  • Monitorand trackthe main Key Performance Indicators(KPIs)to assure that assets are performing as expected andcarry our root-cause analysis in case of deviations.
  • Support the invoicing process by generating invoicing data.
  • Collaborate in the generation of asset/portfolio performance reports.

Your Skills

  • Familiar with solar monitoring software and mainsolarPV and energy KPIs.
  • Good understanding of technicalsolarPV documentation such as SLDs,PVSystreports.
  • Good understanding of energy systems, technical components of solar PV projects, load profiles, energy consumption behaviour, especially for commercial and industrial clients.
  • Experience with documentation such as Asset All Risk Insurances and contract work, more specifically O&Mand EPCContractsand PPAs.
  • Knowledge and experience in the compliance of required regulations for the operations of solar projects,especially in Ghana.
  • Being able to cope with a highly dynamic environment wherevery differentchallenges can appear weekly.
  • Experience managing databases andoptimizingtheir use.
  • Having managedsolar PVprojects independently before.
  • Experience in managing client communications during project operations.
  • Proficiency with collaborative tools especially Microsoft Office. (Experience with Asana is a plus)
  • Fluent in English (English is our daily working language).
