Warehouse Specialist
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials required for solar energy system installations. This role ensures that the correct materialssuch as solar panels, inverters, electrical wiring, and mounting systemsare available when needed, properly stored, and distributed efficiently to support solar installation projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with vendors and suppliers to source the necessary materials for solar installations, including solar panels, inverters, electrical components, wiring, and mounting structures.
- Ensure that the required materials are in stock or ordered in advance based on project schedules and timelines.
- Work with suppliers to obtain the best prices, delivery schedules, and terms, balancing cost-efficiency with project requirements.
- Keep a current list of reliable suppliers and maintain strong working relationships with them to ensure consistent quality and timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of materials in stock, including solar panels, electrical components, tools, and other essential items.
- Ensure effective inventory management systems are in place to track usage, reduce waste, and avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Perform regular physical counts of materials and reconcile them with inventory records to ensure accuracy.
- Manage the storage of materials on-site or in warehouses to optimize space, prevent damage, and facilitate easy access for the installation teams.
Required Skills:
- Solar Materials Understanding: Knowledge of the different materials used in solar technologies, including:
- Understanding of metals such as aluminum, copper, and steel used in solar panel frames, inverters, wiring, and mounting structures.
- Familiarity with materials used in solar energy storage systems, such as lithium-ion, lead-acid, or emerging battery technologies.
- Expertise in sourcing and purchasing high-quality materials from global suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Vendor Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring material availability, quality, and timely delivery.
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory of solar materials, maintaining optimal stock levels, and avoiding shortages or overstocking issues.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in material management, logistics, or procurement, ideally in the renewable energy, construction, or solar industry.
- Experience managing inventory and coordinating material deliveries to construction or installation sites.
- Familiarity with solar energy systems, including components like PV panels, inverters, batteries, and electrical systems.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Unfortunately, a current or future need for sponsorship is not supported or available for this position.
Salary Range: $44,970.00 - $71,950.00
*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
