About the Role
We are seeking a driven Project Manager who is ready to take on big responsibilities in a growing, passionate team.
In this role, you will be manage projects ranging from $250,000 to $8 million, supporting energy engineering and energy upgrades from start to finish — including lighting, HVAC, controls, building envelope improvements, and compliance audits (ASHRAE Level I and II).
Much of our work is on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Some travel (20%–30%) may be required.
Responsibilities
- Growth and success of Project Engineers and Assistant Project Engineers
- Estimate project budgets and produce finished proposals
- Collaborate with engineers to design high-value energy-saving measures
- Develop project scopes of work and bid packages
- Manage contracts with Owner and Subcontractors from start to finish, including change management
- Drive on-time and on-budget projects with tight management of costs and schedule
- Clearly and effectively communicate with team and client, ensuring satisfaction and successful outcomes
- Coordinate onsite staff and contractors
- Oversee timely submittals and Operations and Maintenance Manual delivery
- Bridge between field realities and engineering design to meet or exceed energy saving goals
- Collect, review and run calculations based on large data sets
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience as a project manager/estimator running successful projects
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in STEM/Engineering related
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused and professional demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Project
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally and nationally
- Clean DMV record
Bonus Skills
- Master’s Degree preferably in STEM/Engineering related
- Engineering background (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related fields)
- Experience conducting compliance audits (ASHRAE Level I or II)
- Familiarity with energy efficiency technologies and retro-commissioning (RCx)
- Experience with control system programming or building automation systems
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices and standards
- Strong data entry and calculation skills, especially for energy modeling
- Coding experience
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in various indoor/outdoor conditions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on-site in commercial buildings, sometimes in tight, enclosed, or elevated spaces (e.g., mechanical rooms, rooftops, crawlspaces)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per day)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
