What are we looking for?

For Manager roles (and preferably Coordinator roles)

  • Web/app development – Experience of leading or supporting web/mobile applications. Coding and AWS experience would be an advantage.
  • Content Development –Knowledge of information systems and research process would be an advantage.
  • Information Management –Working knowledge of information systems essentials. Experience of building systems an advantage. Extensive Knowledge of database development and packages preferred.
  • Community outreach programmes - Experience of community work (preferably in disadvantaged communities) or public promotion, and volunteer support

Essential Competencies

  • Working knowledge of IT information management systems;
  • Methodical with attention to detail;
  • Ability to find innovate;
  • Able to work remotely and unsupervised;
  • Knowledge of sustainability issues would be an advantage but not essential;
  • Able to manage own workload.

What will you be doing?

Project Managers, Coordinators and Developers wanted– Several roles

We're looking for a UK-based experienced Project Managers, Coordinators and Developers to support our E-Save app, community outreach programmes, UK-wide network and partnership development work.

For most of the initiatives this will involve working with teams of volunteers who are making vital contributions to the development of our crowd sourced app and other programmes.

Lead Project Managers will lead the development of programmes and project management systems, and liaise with Coordinator and other PMs.

The Coordinator roles focus on day-to-day task management and volunteer communications with a dedicated team or a pool of remote volunteers in, and keeping in touch with team members.

Project Developers will assist with the research and development of various aspects of the programmes, and help identify and develop opportunities. This may include desktop or other research, project planning and development.

We are interested in hearing from both people who would prefer short-term project focused or ongoing roles.

Join us in making a real impact on household carbon footprints and promoting sustainable living through our innovative crowdsourced E-Save app and community outreach programmes, and supporting capacity building programmes.

You must be able to contribute up to 2-3 hours weekly regularly basis. The Manager and Coordinator roles demand proactive management to meet the challenges that working with remote teams of part time volunteers.

All three roles are needed for one or more of the following task areas

Web/app development – upgrading the current web app, developing an upgraded Progressive web app, and fully mobile version. Coding, AWS experience would be an advantage. Researching opportunities, potential partners, UX, gamification etc.

App Content Development – Supporting the programme and a growing team of researchers, content developers and editors, and carbon accountants etc. The role also includes project managing the development of process and system requirements for data entry, processing and verification. Knowledge of information systems and research process would be an advantage. Researching opportunities, potential partners, sources etc.

Information Management – to oversee and/or coordinate, the build of robust data entry under management systems for the Content Development team on a minimal budget. And develop the specifications and programme for a robust system for crowdsourcing at scale. Knowledge of information systems essentials.

Community outreach programmes – Supporting community outreach workers and developing work programmes in partnership with local organisations, including the recruitment of local volunteers. Researching and developing opportunities, potential partners and sustainable living bite-sized accessible info packs and ideas for face-to-face activities (workshops, demos etc).

Eco-Network – Supporting the development and administration of a soon to be launched UK network of supporters and potential contributors to the app and local pilot partners, and associated app steering group and advisory panel. Researching and developing opportunities, potential partners etc.

Partnership development - Supporting an initiative to research and develop approaches to find and establish partners to support the app and the work of the Eco Centre, in kind or financially. This could include universities, local authorities, businesses, funders and other organisations.

Plus other ad hoc research tasks.
