Research, Impact and Communications Officer
The Research, Impact and Communications Officer will play a key role in raising the profile of the EastSide Greenways Climate Action project, strengthening its brand, and engaging the public through clear, creative, and compelling messaging.
The Research, Impact and Communications Officer will play a key role in monitoring and evaluating the impact of the work undertaken by the climate action fund. This includes collecting and analysing primary data, such as surveys and focus groups, and disseminating the findings and impact to a range of audiences using co-produced and creative approaches.
The Climate Action project will work in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast to support the primary data collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of the impact of the Climate Action project.
The role is responsible for delivering high-quality marketing content, managing social media and digital channels, and supporting campaigns that highlight the projects, achievements, and community impact.
By producing accessible communications and storytelling that celebrates positive change, the officer helps demonstrate the difference the Climate Action project makes to inspire wider participation, impact measurement and awareness.
Summary of responsibilities and personal duties
· Support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the project in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast on monitoring KPIs, including developing, collecting, analysing and interpreting data from surveys, focus groups, workshops and/or other relevant approaches.
· Deliver clear and accessible communications about the Climate Action programme across all channels.
· Produce content to promote all elements of the Climate Action project using videos, blogs, vlogs, social media posts, infographics and short research summaries.
· Manage the day-to-day upkeep of digital channels including social media, website, building online reach and engagement.
· Work with residents, strategic partners, community organisations and schools to support engagement in the Climate Action project.
· Develop a Communications and Impact Strategy for the Climate Action project.
· Design and implement reproducible mechanisms for gathering data at related events and activities.
· Collate and summarise quantitative and qualitative data, turning findings into accessible messages, visuals and reports.
· Produce short reports, briefings and updates that communicate progress and learning to the Climate Action fund team, EastSide Partnership team, Board, partners and participants.
· Work with and share learning with EastSide Greenways colleagues, Belfast City Council, Queens University Belfast and community partners to deliver communications that reflect programme aims.
· Alongside the EastSide Greenways Manager, help raise the profile of the Climate Action project across east Belfast, Belfast, Northern Ireland and the UK.
· Represent the project at meetings, forums and networks as required.
· Deliver presentations to stakeholders using clear, confident communication.
· Work as part of team to organise and advertise events and activities, this may include posters, leaflets, online communications, social media and other publicity.
