About Earthworm

Earthworm is a group of people who believes we can solve the big issues affecting people and nature today. We work in global supply chains impacting millions of people and places around the world to make the products we buy. We work on the ground, in forests, fields and factories, helping companies, farmers and communities find practical solutions together. And we know that, ultimately, trust and positive changes comes from people getting to work together, hands in the soil.

Your Role

As Earthworm Foundation’s Climate & Carbon Specialist, you will be at the heart of our mission to drive climate action through collaboration and innovation in key production landscapes. You’ll lead the technical carbon work for our portfolio of climate projects, mainly in Latin America, ensuring our approaches are robust, compliant, and impactful. Your expertise will shape how we measure, report, and verify carbon impacts -empowering farmers, partners, and communities to build a more resilient future.

  • Carbon Methodology Development: Own and refine our existing scope 3 carbon approach, ensuring alignment with global standards like SBTi FLAG, GHG Protocol LSRG, and voluntary carbon market methodologies (e.g., VCS, Gold Standard). Keep us ahead of evolving best practices and global standards.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Develop and maintain carbon models, sampling strategies, and data management systems to produce accurate ex-ante and ex-post carbon estimates. Translate complex data into actionable insights for projects spanning regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, and landscape restoratioN
  • MRV System Innovation: work with the EF impact team to implement a comprehensive MRV system for our climate projects, integrating satellite data (e.g., Starling alerts), farmer-level verification tools, and biomass/soil sampling. Translate results into high-quality, client-facing reports.
  • Collaboration & Capacity Building: Train field teams and partners on carbon accounting, MRV, and sampling methods. Bridge the gap between technical experts and non-technical stakeholders, making carbon science accessible and actionable.
  • Business Development & Thought Leadership: Support the design of new climate projects and proposals, while tracking emerging standards, scientific advancements, and market trends.
