Position Summary

The Climate Finance Officer will support EarthON Foundation’s climate action initiatives by mobilizing and structuring finance for climate-resilient agriculture, clean energy, green livelihoods, and industry decarbonization. The role will work with internal teams and external partners to develop innovative financing solutions that enable the adoption of climate-smart technologies and scale sustainable impact across SwitchON’s operational regions in India.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Statutory Adherence

- Handling budget planning & fund-flow projections.

- Ensure entire adherence to statutory,regulatory & legal requirements including FCRA, Income Tax Act & 5013C regulations.

- Maintain financial documentation such as contracts, grant agreements, and investment records.

- Support audits and manage core finance functions including bookkeeping and audit coordination.

- Ensure all statutory compliances are completed on stipulated timelines.


Climate & Blended Finance Strategy

- Design and implement climate finance and blended finance mechanisms to support scalable climate solutions.

- Assess investment readiness of startups and enterprises within EarthON’s ecosystem.

- Identify innovative financing instruments such as impact funds, guarantees, concessional finance, and risk-sharing models.


Grant Management & Donor Engagement

- Manage end-to-end grant portfolios, including budgeting, application processes, compliance, and closure.

- Ensure adherence to donor requirements, including climate finance reporting guidelines.

- Build clear financial narratives and frameworks for donor proposals, funding pitches, and climate finance submissions.


Investment Analysis & Due Diligence

- Conduct financial, operational, and impact due diligence for startup and enterprise investments.

- Create detailed risk assessments, and financial projections.

- Monitor performance of partners, organizations, ensuring alignment with climate and impact outcomes. 


Stakeholder Coordination 

- Coordinate with stakeholders, banks, and government agencies.

- Engage with startups to strengthen financial systems, reporting, and compliance.


Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare a financial & impact report for donors & stakeholders.

- Develop dashboards & analytical tools for leadership & board level presentations.

Qualifications

Mandatory

- Strong understanding of climate finance, blended finance, impact investing, or grant making.

- Proven expertise in investment due diligence, financial modeling, budgeting, and compliance.

- Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel (advanced), Google Sheets, and financial dashboards.

- Knowledge about US Accounting & compliances(Preferred)

- Experience working with donors, investors, and startup ecosystems.

- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines across multiple portfolios.


Education

- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Climate Finance, or related field.

- Chartered Accountant (CA) / CFA Level 1 or 2 is desirable.

- Certification in Climate Finance courses(preferred)


Language

- English.

- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

- Diligent, detail-oriented, and capable of managing high-value portfolios.

- Willing to travel as required.

● Annual CTC: ₹12-15 Lakhs

● Reimbursements: Official travel, stay, and logistics as per organizational policy

Travel Requirements

Extensive travel across project locations and partner hubs, with occasional travel for investment reviews, stakeholder meetings, and ecosystem engagements.
