Position Overview
The Pipeline and Portfolio Lead plays a critical role in advancing E8’s mission by facilitating the sourcing, screening, diligence, and tracking of companies across both the E8 and Decarbon8 pipelines. This highly collaborative, process-oriented role blends relationship management, operational execution, and stakeholder and data coordination to support early-stage climate innovation and investment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and energized by working in a mission-driven environment. They are comfortable flexing between administrative responsibilities and direct engagement with founders, investors, and volunteers. This role directly contributes to E8’s strategic priorities: enhancing founder engagement, increasing investment activity, and supporting the regional innovation ecosystem. The Lead also ensures a high-quality, consistent experience for company applicants, portfolio companies, and E8 members.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Deal Flow and Pipeline Operations
Track and oversee companies from application through diligence and investment.
Maintain accurate data and documentation in E8’s CRM and investment and deal tracking systems
Ensure timely and clear communication with entrepreneurs
Generate reports and insights to ensure efficient and effective process operations
Set up meeting calendars and coordinate diligence teams
Support Sourcing and Screening Processes
Cultivate relationships with accelerators, incubators, and investment partners
Support screening committee logistics and member engagement
Track outcomes and follow-ups from sourcing and screening meetings
Member and Investor Engagement
Coordinate company presentations, including new and portfolio company pitches to members, and related meetings.
Support due diligence teams and ensure smooth and high-quality experience
Represent E8 with external partners and entrepreneurs
Portfolio Company Support and Communication
Monitor portfolio company progress and foster ongoing engagement.
Facilitate visibility and engagement for companies to highlight progress, attract follow-on funding, and connect within the E8 network.
Generate reports and updates on E8’s portfolio of companies
CRM, Reporting, and Operations
Maintain accurate and well-structured data within CRM (Dealum) and related platforms.
Develop and produce reports to track pipeline health, sourcing, diligence activity, and portfolio performance.
Support operational tasks and special initiatives as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; enjoys relationship-building.
Tech-savvy; comfortable using CRMs, cloud tools, Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
Self-directed and flexible with an ability to manage multiple concurrent workflows.
Passionate about climate technology, entrepreneurship, and working in a mission-driven organization.
5+ years of experience in startup investing, venture support, program coordination, the cleantech industry, or nonprofit settings.
Particulars
Pay range is 60-80K. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Full-time, hybrid. Most work is remote, but there is frequent in-person planning/events.
The position is based in Seattle, with remote work flexibility. Candidates must reside in the U.S. and be authorized to work in the country.
This role reports to the Executive Director.
Must have availability to work standard PST hours, Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm and occasional evenings for community events.
