Public Affairs Manager (Trucks & Infrastructure)
E-Mobility Europe, the association for Europe’s electric vehicle ecosystem, is hiring a driven individual to lead our advocacy activities on heavy duty vehicles and electric vehicle infrastructure.
E-Mobility Europe is a growing trade association, advocating for a successful transition to electric vehicles across Europe. We are active across high visibility political discussions as well as regulatory work to accelerate the deployment of electric cars, vans, and trucks – including their infrastructure and supply chains.
Our 80+ members include frontrunning electric vehicle manufacturers, infrastructure providers, fleet operators, the supply chain, technology companies, and national associations.
Based in Brussels, we are seeking a highly motivated public affairs expert to join our team. We offer an attractive working environment in a growing association.
Your profile
- You need a proven track record, ideally including 5 or more years’ experience in EU policy in Brussels, covering related policy areas
- You are a proficient public speaker and can express ideas in a clear and concise manner, both in written and oral forms. You must be fluent in English.
- You can establish contacts easily and therefore create relationships with influential stakeholders in your daily work to deliver the policy objectives of E-Mobility Europe.
- You have demonstrable experience of implementing public affairs strategies towards the EU institutions on relevant policy areas
- You have an interest in mentoring and desire to contribute to a collaborative team culture.
- If not already a subject expert, you need a keen interest in and an ability to quickly grasp legislative and technical matters related to E-Mobility Europe’s scope of activity
- You have the legal right to work in Belgium/EU without employer sponsorship
- You must have experience of mobility, energy, industrial, or climate policy – and ideally have worked within a related sector in Brussels.
Your Responsibilities
Working in parallel as part of the policy team and reporting to the Public Affairs Director and Secretary General, your work will focus on actions to:
- Take forward E-Mobility Europe’s policy activities on heavy duty vehicles and charging infrastructure / grids, setting priorities and delivering legislative impact (example files: ETS2, AFIR, CO2 limits, Bidirectional charging)
- Represent E-Mobility Europe in political and operational meetings with the European institutions, plus public engagement
- Network, coordinate and build alliances with external stakeholders, including liaison with other industry partners and NGOs
- Organize and run E-Mobility Europe’s Heavy Duty Vehicle and Infrastructure Working Groups, including Chair liaison, sending out documents, managing minutes, providing proactive analysis of the political landscape and following-up on actions.
- Activate E-Mobility Europe’s member network – including company champions and national associations – to effectively influence decision makers at EU and national-levels
- Develop and oversee the development of materials that shape policy debates including (position papers, studies, briefings, press releases, event concept notes, and other policy documents)
- Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and public events, delivering presentations to diverse audiences
