Vice President, Business Development, Distributed - Dynamic Energy
Dynamic Energy is seeking a strategic leader to drive growth in distributed generation across commercial markets. As Vice President of Business Development, youll lead customer acquisition, negotiate complex energy deals (solar + storage, standalone storage, fuel cells, EV, community solar, PPAs), and manage key accounts. Your primary goal: achieve revenue and margin targets through disciplined pipeline management, strategic partnerships, and market leadership in distributed energy.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Market Development (25%): Identify and prioritize new markets, products, and partnerships to expand our distributed generation portfolio.
- Sales Leadership & Pipeline Management (50%): Lead sales teams to drive customer acquisition, close deals, and manage project financing.
- Customer & Relationship Management (20%): Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers for long-term contracts.
- AI & Technology Integration (5%): Champion adoption of AI and digital tools for lead generation and proposal management.

- Reducing customer acquisition costs and sales cycle times.

Decision-Making & Financial Impact
Authority to advance pipeline projects based on risk, economics, and policy.
Advisory influence on contracting and financing, with annual impact up to $50M.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field (required).
- 710 years in distributed generation, renewable energy, or utility-scale project development, with 5+ years in business development or commercial leadership.
- Proven success leading multi-state sales teams and managing complex negotiations in DER.
- Deep knowledge of solar and battery storage development, interconnection, permitting, and PPA structuring.
- Masters degree (MBA) and experience scaling commercial operations or managing a national sales organization (preferred).
- Familiarity with AI, data analytics, CRM tools, and strong financial acumen.
Travel
Up to 25%.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected starting pay range for this role is $125,000 - $145,000 USD with a commission structure. This range is an estimate, and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Patterns compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
